Abstract: A simple dead bolt is mounted inside sleeves which are aligned between a door and its door jam. One end of the dead bolt has a latch key projecting inside the room. The latch key can be mounted either on the door or in the wall. Sliding the latch key closed securely and rapidly locks the door from the inside.
Abstract: A manipulator is described to apply a double ended cotton swab to a person's back. The manipulator has a groove which holds the swab rod in a slide grip, and a blocking protrusion that restrains the swab from sliding.
Abstract: An effective vehicular anti-theft wheel lock is fashioned from two bent bars that can slide reltive to each other with a long extension of one of the bars projecting under the vehicle. Bent portions of the bars grip the wheel rim and means are provided for locking the bars together, as wtih a padlock shackle may be protected against bolt cutters by a grooved block.
Abstract: To pour and set concrete slabs the form deck is chained to a light truck and the combination is supported between joists. The truck can be lowered while the slab is curing, and raised again before the combination is again lowered to be "flown" to another location.
Abstract: For leveling prehung door assemblies a device is described on which a level indicator is mounted on one flange of a channel member that can be snap fitted onto the door edge.
Abstract: A guide bar for carrier strip grips the strip ribbon between adjustable pins and can accept a wide range of strip dimensions. The pins project from spring-actuated disks that are recessed into the upper surface of a slide bar. Associated gears at the undersurface of the bar cause pairs of the disks to turn in unison.
Abstract: A device is described with two flat bars that link around an outboard motor housing and connect to a blocking cylinder to prevent rotation or removal of a propeller.
Abstract: The invention relates to an intraoral dispensing apparatus for rendering the breath of a person aromatically pleasant. A vesicle is disposed about and in contact with the gingiva or dental gums and contains a supply of breath deodorizing or sweetening solution, which may include medications. A valve is provided for selectively dispensing solution as desired by the user, and is activated by finger pressure on the outside of the cheek. The dispensing valve operates only selectively to release solution to avoid flavor contamination of food when eating. Filling means are provided to recharge the vesicle. An alternative model is adaptable for use with dentures and can comprise a vesicle formed from a single layer of material attached about its periphery on the gingival surface of the denture. Other alternatives include combination of the foregoing with a bite opener, temporo-mandibular joint syndrome corrector, herbst appliance, etc.
Abstract: Sound projecting apparatus employs a microcomputer to pan a musical performance automatically, according to a preset program, and to display the instantaneous location of the apparent sound source by means of an array of lights.
Abstract: A device for attaching an identifying display to the antenna of a car in a parking lot has a threaded rod with a lengthwise channel that fits over the stem of the antenna, a lower nut that confines the stem in the channel, an upper threaded sleeve that fits over the enlarged tip of the antenna, and a screw that fits into the top of the sleeve. A ribbon or flag can be tied through a vertical slot in the top of the screw or a rigid display member can be threaded onto it.
Abstract: A hand tool for holding a syringe needle cover prevents accidental pricking when it is replaced, and comprises a slot between parallel plates, into which the needle cover flange can be wedged. Tapered needle covers are gripped by holes in the tool, providing a safe method for handling syringes.
Abstract: An apparatus for practicing tennis has a ball receiving bin whose back wall extends upwardly to serve as a target, and whose front wall is net high. Balls entering a central hole in the target area are returned through a chute into the bin.
Abstract: The guide plates of a soldering apparatus for carrier strip are provided with grooves and slide bars that fit the grooves. The bars have pins fitting holes in the strip and means for precisely positioning the bars lengthwise in the grooves.
Abstract: A compactor for salvaging aluminum cans has a removable upright tube that fits into a groove in the base; a replaceable anvil has an arcuate slot that fits over a section of the above-mentioned groove, and the tube wall passes through this slot to reach the groove. A thrust rod, bearing a crushing block, is hingedly connected to a lever arm by means of a U-bolt so that it can remain substantially upright.
Abstract: A boat outfitted with three hydrofoils disposed, e.g. in a triangular array. At least one of the hydrofoils are provided with an elevator, and the hydrofoils are spaced from the hull by supports therefor. The hydrofoils define the lowermost periphery of the boat and have a flat or substantially flat lower surface so that the boat can be beached on the hydrofoils.
