  • Patent number: 6834683
Abstract: The leading end of a weft thread exiting from a weft insertion channel in an air jet weaving loom is monitored by a weft stop motion positioned in a weft stretching channel directly downstream, as viewed in the weft motion direction, of an exit of the weft insertion channel. The weft stop motion is either an additional weft stop motion monitor or it is the first weft stop motion device repositioned from a location at the exit of the weft insertion channel to a location in the weft stretching channel. In such a position in the weft stretching channel faults or deformations such as a loop in the leading end section of the weft thread are readily or positively detected for generating a respective loom control signal.

  • Patent number: 6832620
Abstract: An apparatus for dosing lubricant into a compressed air flow includes a lubricant container, a pneumatically operated lubricant pump, an injection channel, a non-return valve interposed between the outlet of the pump and the injection channel, and an electronic sensor cooperating with or coupled to the non-return valve so that the sensor emits an electrical signal responsive and corresponding to the stroke travel of the non-return valve. When the pump carries out a lubricant injection cycle, the pressurized lubricant pushes open the non-return valve, flows into the injection channel and from there into a main channel through which compressed air flows. The travel of the valve is sensed by the sensor, and the sensor signal indicates whether the lubricant injection was proper or faulty, e.g. if the proper amount of lubricant was injected.

  • Patent number: 6833807
Abstract: A method for adaptive target processing in a vehicle the radar involves first detecting targets in the monitored environment with respect to their speed and location in a standard mode of the radar sensor, and then switching to a precision mode, in which the distance measuring range of the radar sensor is adapted to the target surroundings detected in the standard mode. More particularly, the measuring accuracy and/or resolution regarding speed is increased by increasing the time of observation within the distance measuring range adapted to the target surroundings.

  • Patent number: 6822521
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for reducing the decay and build-up transient times of an intermittently operating oscillating circuit increases the data transmission rate of a transmission unit using such an oscillating circuit. A control unit is connected to the oscillating circuit including a capacitor, a coil, and a resistor. A switch element controlled by the control unit selectively connects a voltage source to the capacitor, or selectively connects a current source to the coil. In the former case, another switch element selectively disconnects the capacitor from the coil and the resistor. In this circuit arrangement the current and/or the voltage are maintained when the excitation voltage for the oscillating circuit is interrupted. This eliminates the decay of the oscillating circuit amplitudes. When the excitation voltage is switched on again, the oscillating circuit continues oscillating without delay.

  • Patent number: 6823020
Abstract: An arrangement for generating digital signals on first and second bus lines is tolerant of most line faults, and includes modules connected to both lines, an upper switch between a first potential and the first line, a middle switch between the two lines, and a lower switch between the second line and a second potential lower than the first potential. The switches are controlled to generate digital signals as the potential difference between the two lines. If a fault potential (e.g. a short to ground or other potential) arises on one line, then the switches drive the non-faulty line to provide the required signals relative to the fault potential on the faulty line. Closing the middle switch ensures that the two lines are at the same potential for a low signal. This arrangement is for is signaling in various bus systems, e.g. in vehicle occupant protection systems in motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 6810918
Abstract: A supply spool supplies a weft thread through an adjustable actuated thread brake and a thread tension sensor to a weft thread accumulator, from which an accumulated insertion length of the thread is provided to a weft insertion device. The tension sensor provides a measured actual thread tension signal to a control arrangement, which compares the actual tension to a selected rated tension, and, dependent on the deviation therebetween, provides a control signal to an actuator of the thread brake, so that the actual thread tension constantly corresponds to the selected rated tension. Another sensor provides a signal indicating a change from an empty spool to a full spool. Responsive thereto, the control arrangement actuates the thread brake to an adjustable starting brake setting as a coarse adjustment. Then the self-regulating fine adjustment is continued. A constant winding tension and thread accumulation length are achieved in the thread accumulator.

  • Patent number: 6806749
Abstract: A circuit includes a second switching unit, a first switching unit that is connected to and selectively actuates the second switching unit, and a capacitive voltage divider including first, second and third capacitances connected in series. The first and second switching units are connected respectively to first and second junctions between the first and second and the second and third capacitances respectively. An associated method involves applying a supply voltage to the voltage divider so as to charge the first and second junctions, discharging the first junction through the first switching unit, which, dependent on the voltage of the first junction, selectively actuates the second switching unit to supply an additional charging current to the second junction. A time-limited signal such as a power-on reset signal is tapped from the first or second switching unit or from the second junction. Thereafter, the circuit draws no further current.

  • Patent number: 6806131
Abstract: In a new process of making a DMOS transistor, the doping of the sloping side walls can be set independently from the doping of the floor region in a trench structure. Furthermore, different dopings can be established among the side walls. This is achieved especially by a sequence of implantation doping, etching to form the trench, formation of a scattering oxide protective layer on the side walls, and two-stage perpendicular and tilted final implantation doping. For DMOS transistors, this achieves high breakthrough voltages even with low turn-on resistances, and reduces the space requirement, in particular with regard to driver structures.
