Abstract: A method for mobile communication includes arranging a plurality of access points in a wireless local area network (WLAN) to communicate on a common frequency channel with a mobile station, and linking the access points together by cables in a wired local area network (LAN), so as to convey frames of data to and from the mobile station via the LAN. When one or more of the access points receive an uplink signal transmitted over the WLAN by the mobile station on the common frequency channel, the access points send messages over the LAN by interleaving the messages in one or more of the frames of the data, and arbitrate among themselves based on the messages so as to select one of the access points to respond to the uplink signal.

Abstract: A method for creating a graphic user interface (GUI) for a computer application includes defining a relation that associates certain graphic elements (84, 86, 88, 90, 92) with corresponding user interface elements (64, 66, 68, 70, 72) that are linked to functions of the application. An image (80) is provided that includes one or more of the graphic elements at respective locations in the image. A user interface screen (140) is generated responsive to the image, such that the user interface elements are mapped to positions on the screen determined by the respective locations of the corresponding graphic elements in the image.

Abstract: The handcuff assembly includes a bow pivotally connected to a cheek plate frame assembly which includes a base frame. A removable lockset assembly for locking a pawl relative to ratchet teeth on the bow and including a slideable lock bar is received in the base frame. The lock bar has a lock setting slot therethrough for receiving an actuating pin to move the lock bar from a single lockposition to a double lock position. A key receiving structure on each side of the lockset assembly is provided for receiving a key and enabling the key to turned in one direction only for first unlocking a double-lock, which prevents movement of the bow in either direction and for secondly, completely unlocking the handcuff by moving the pawl away from the bow and against a spring mechanism. The inventive device includes a life-like resilient foam head having an integral oval-shaped handle and a core insert clamshell encasing that traps the handle in place. The head resembles the head of a human being with eye, ear, nose, mouth and temple features. An opening is provided in the back side of the head for access to the handle. The handle is oval in shape and is strategically located at the centroid of the head for optimum angle position for the trainer's hand. The handle is sandwich between the left-hand and the right-hand core insert encasings. The left-hand core insert captivates half of the handle structure. It contains half of the enclosure for protecting the hand during training. The right-hand core insert captivates half of the handle structure.
