  • Patent number: 6771333
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a display unit having a first reflective plate and a second reflective plate forming a reflective-plate unit, and a third reflective plate. The first reflective plate is bonded to an external frame, and the second reflective plate is connected to a reflective-plate hinge. In addition, the third reflective plate is pivotally connected to the reflective-plate hinge, and a diffusion plate is bonded to the third reflective plate. Light emitted from a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp is guided by an optical waveguide and illuminates the entire surface of a liquid crystal panel. In addition, a part of the light is reflected by the second reflective plate, is incident on the diffusion plate bonded to the third reflective plate, is efficiently diffused by the diffusion plate, and uniformly illuminates an operation unit such as a keyboard.

  • Patent number: 6658195
Abstract: The ratio of an inter-track gap occupied in each track of a magnetic tape is minimized to increase the amount of effective data which can be recorded on one track. In the magnetic recording and playback method for recording digital data on a magnetic tape by a helical scan method and for playing back digital data recorded on a magnetic tape by a helical scan method, in sequence from the start of each track on a magnetic tape, a first recording area containing an audio sector, etc., and a second recording area containing an insert-and-track-information sector, one of a video sector and an audio-video-mixed sector in which audio data and the video data are mixed, a subcode sector, etc., are located, with an inter-track gap provided between the recording areas, and data is continuously recorded on each sector of the first recording area and the second recording area, wherein data in the first recording area can be rewritten after recording onto the magnetic tape is terminated.

  • Patent number: 6219489
Abstract: In order to easily discriminate a recording mode of a magnetic tape even when the fast feeding/rewinding reproducing operation is set to the odd number times speed or even number times speed, a standard pilot signal for generating the tracking error signal is set to a fixed frequency when the fast feeding/rewinding reproducing operation is performed in the even number times speed of the ordinary reproduction speed and the standard pilot signal is set in the rotational frequencies when the fast feeding/rewinding reproducing operation is performed in the odd number times speed. Thus, the recording mode is discriminated by making reference to the time series pattern of an output obtained by sampling the tracking error signal obtained on the basis of the reproduced pilot signal and the standard pilot signal in the predetermined timing.

  • Patent number: 5148277
Abstract: A mosaic effect generating apparatus having at least a single-line memory supplied with an incoming video signal, and supplying as its output a mosaic effect signal a clock signal generating circuit that determines the mosaic width by generating a clock signal of a predetermined frequency and supplying the clock signal to the single-line memory as a write clock signal and a read clock signal and a write control circuit that determines the mosaic height by enabling the incoming video signal to be writtenn in the single-line memory only during selected portions of each horizontal interval of a selected plurality of said successive horizontal intervals of the incoming video signal.

  • Patent number: 5095382
Abstract: A wireless headphone in which an infra-red light signal transmitted from a transmitting apparatus is received and reproduced as an audible sound by a headphone unit portion. A first light receiving element is provided on a top portion of a head band portion of the headphone so that, when a listener wears the wireless headphone, a light receiving surface included in the first light receiving element is directed rearward. Second and third light receiving elements are provided on the pair of headphone unit portions so that, when the listener wears the wireless headphone light receiving surfaces included in the second and third light receiving elements are directed forward.
