  • Patent number: 6318016
Abstract: A fishing lure with a brightly luminous eye and partially luminous lateral line of a light collecting and transmitting optic fiber to imitate a bait fish. The lure includes a lure body wt. a fishing line connector and a hook. A pair of elongate, light storing and transmitting optical pipes are connected along each side the lure body. Each such light pipe has at least a partially exposed, light gathering length and each terminates in a bulbous lens. Light energy received in the light pipe generates a faint luminous glow along its length to represent the lateral line of a baitfish and generates a bright luminous glow at the bulbous lens to represent the eye of a baitfish.

  • Patent number: 6240319
Abstract: A diathermy apparatus has a power circuit operative at a selected, fixed frequency. An applicator head, for providing therapeutic treatment, has an irradiating portion. A transmission line connects the power circuit and applicator head, and is of a length so that, at the frequency, a selected minimum power is delivered to the applicator head when unloaded, the length further being such that a selected maximum amount of power is delivered to the applicator head when it is in a loaded position in close proximity to a patient load. The diathermy apparatus also includes a cabinet and portable base, wherein the portable base mounts the applicator head, and provides a carriage for the cabinet. The applicator head has an internal fan for cooling components of the applicator head. A display is provided for displaying the actual power consumed by the patient load. A processor independently controls the pulse modulator and power circuit in digital increments on a selected scale.

  • Patent number: 6234073
Abstract: A method and apparatus for spirally slicing boneless meat without the need for a center support rod. A slicing machine for the meat includes a rotatable base and an elevated chuck both having prongs for clamping the meat between them. Separate motors independently turn the base and chuck at the same rotational speed so that there is no twisting of the meat from top to bottom. A slicing blade is moved vertically on the machine as it slices the meat spirally about a solid meat core extending along the rotational axis.

  • Patent number: 5397510
Abstract: A control system for a humidifier having operative components housed within a casing. The casing includes an upper portion which is removable to provide access to the interior such that a refillable water supply bottle may be removed from, and placed into, the casing. A first control system senses depletion of the water within the water bottle and activates an indicator or disables operation of the humidifier. This first control system includes a spring biased switch which presses laterally against a side of the water bottle. When the weight of the water bottle has sufficiently decreased, due to dispensing of the water therefrom, the spring bias may overcome the weight of the bottle to tip it slightly laterally, enabling the switch. A second control system is an interlock which disables operation of the humidifier upon the casing being open. A finger element extends downward from the lid of the casing and engages against a switch mounted within the casing.
