Patent number: 4465365Abstract: An improved printer of the type including an exposing and printing box in which a strip of printing paper is intermittently introduced into an exposing section in the downward direction substantially in parallel to the optical axis of light beam coming down from a light beam source is disclosed. A mirror fixedly mounted on a turnable mirror support is disposed at the position located in the proximity of the bottom of a trimming dark box so as to allow the direction of propagation of light beam to be changed toward the exposing section at a right angle relative to the optical axis of light beam in the trimming dark box. Thus, the printer is designed to have the substantially same width as that of the conventional ones but a remarkably reduced length compared with that of the conventional ones.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1983Date of Patent: August 14, 1984Assignee: Noritsu Kenkyu Center Co., Ltd.Inventor: Seiichi Toyoda

Patent number: 4326005Abstract: A dry release transfer is disclosed in which a releasable layer is adhered to a carrier sheet and a stress-resisting transferable design layer is printed on the releasable layer. The releasable layer is normally pre-stressed so that when an external force is applied to the carrier sheet , e.g. by rubbing with a stylus, this force is transmitted to the releasable layer. Since the releasable layer cannot yield to the applied force by stretching, because it is held by the stress-resisting layer, the adhesive bond between the releasable layer and the carrier sheet is weakened or is ruptured or partial or complete cohesive failure occurs within the releasable layer, thereby facilitating transfer of the design layer. A method of producing such transfers is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1979Date of Patent: April 20, 1982Assignee: Kenneth James ReedInventors: Kenneth J. Reed, Alan L. Lythgoe

Patent number: 4286008Abstract: A dry release transfer is disclosed in which the design layer is formed by printing one or more inks onto a carrier sheet, at least one of the inks being a photopolymerizable composition, and subjecting the design layer to ultra-violet radiation or an electron beam discharge in order to polymerize the photopolymerizable ink. By suitable selection of polymerizable components of the ink so that the photopolymerized ink has a high Young's modulus, a stress-resisting design layer is produced which will release readily from the carrier on mechanically stressing the carrier, e.g. by rubbing lightly with a ball-point pen.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1978Date of Patent: August 25, 1981Assignee: E. Patent number: 4154103Abstract: A liquid level measuring device for a container is disclosed. The liquid level measuring device has an elongated frame with a lower end insertable into the liquid in the container. Mounted on the frame is a buoyant floats. The floats and frame are constructed so that the floats is movable along the frame by the buoyant forces of the liquid in the container. The measuring device has a manually operable means for selectively holding the floats in a fixed position relative to the frame so that the frame and floats can be withdrawn from the liquid and the level of the liquid read by comparing the position of the floats in relationship to scale indicia on the frame. The elongated frame is made of a plurality of telescopically arranged sections so that the frame can be collapsed to a minimum length for storage and, when the device is to be used for measuring, the frame sections are moved to expand the length of the frame to the total length of the device.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1978Date of Patent: May 15, 1979Inventor: William F.
