  • Patent number: 6808552
Abstract: Filtration method and device for filtering solid contaminants from a stream of a flowing fluid such as internal combustion engine intake air. An imperforate housing has a tubular inlet exiting at its downstream end into a conically divergent first wall section terminating in a maximum diameter apex. A convergent second wall section terminates at a housing outlet opening of greater diameter than that of the housing inlet. A perforate filter element disposed within the housing conical portions has an exterior configuration generally complimental to the housing interior, and thus has a first generally conical divergent section, and a second generally conical downstream section convergent from a maximum diameter apex of the filter element and defining the filter device outlet. The housing and filter element define therebetween first and second frustoconical annular fluid flow chambers of successively diminishing cross-sectional radial thickness in the direction of downstream fluid flow.

  • Patent number: 6651272
Abstract: Reject waste water adapter coupling fitting, for use with a household undercounter reverse osmosis (R/O) water filtration installation associated with an in-counter sink with its outlet connected by standard slip fit S/J plumbing fittings to a sink drain trap plumbed to the household sewer system. The R/O reject waste water drain line is coupled into the sink drain trap by various improved adapter coupling embodiments: e.g., a ball-and-cage type back check valve in the adapter; a modified S/J branch tail piece having a special adapter fitting that is permanently joined to the inlet of the branch stem tube of the tail piece; and a standard disposal Ell with a waste water drain inlet protuberance integrally molded at the outside corner of the junction of a quarter-turn curved elbow portion with a straight sleeve portion of the Ell.

  • Patent number: 6632755
Abstract: Method and apparatus for making a variegated multicolor fabric by knitting or weaving from a yarn spun from decorative mass of fiber fluff made from staple fibers arranged in continuous form of discrete streams of different uniform colors. The streams are brushed or carded so as to only partially intermix fibers of at least two different colors. The accumulated fibers removed from the card clothing form a pillow batt or roving having a streaked appearance with only a partial intermixing and blending of the streaks of one color with those of another. These are slightly further worked into a final fluff product having randomly dispersed bands, streaks and/or islands of one color softly merging into another color to produce a decorative randomized and interrupted candy-cane like appearance in the cotton-candy like mass of final fiber fluff for spinning into yam for making the fabric.

  • Patent number: 6629493
Abstract: Apparatus for preparing parbaked food products, such as pizza crust shells, and dough formulation used therein, and the product produced thereby and/or therefrom. The apparatus operates on a starting material dough including flour, sugar and water, and preferably also a leavening agent such as instant yeast. The dough is rounded, first proofed, panned, pressed and second proofed in the apparatus. The prepared dough piece is then steam hydrated in the apparatus under conditions sufficient to cause moisture absorption and a resultant increase in moisture content throughout the dough. Then the hydrated dough piece is immediately sequentially parbaked until gelatinization of the starch is complete.

  • Patent number: 6549098
Abstract: An improved filter assembly module comprising an open-ended cylindrical housing containing a spindle chassis with a base radially centering the chassis in the housing. Three spindle, rods extending from the base and three sets of three cylindrical spool-wound capacitors are spindle-mounted one set on each rod. A position stabilizer mounted on the upper ends of spindle rods makes stabilizing contact with the housing inner wall. An inductance coil and core is held beneath the base by a plurality of short rods protruding from the base and by a retainer snap-fastened on the rod ends. A housing bottom cover encloses the inductance coil, short rods and retainer, and a cap closes the housing top end. Electrical circuit connectors electrically couple the capacitors, inductance coil and ground and provide output signal leads for coupling to an associated meter or the like.

  • Patent number: 6499712
Abstract: An electro-mechanical dual linear drive system for adjustably power moving a watercraft seat along a linear travel path. A pair of elongate extruded hollow aluminum rails are mounted in parallelism to a fixed seat support structure. An elongate extruded aluminum hollow slide is non-rotatably and slidably mounted within each rail and driven in a linear travel path for moving the seat load. A lead screw is rotatably mounted within each slide and rail and a traveling nut on each lead screw moves the associated slide. A gear reduction drive mounted on each rail is driving coupled for rotating the associated lead screw. A single electric motor is rotationally drivingly coupled to both gear drive units for synchronously rotating the lead screws in response to motor rotation. Each rail and slide are non-circular and complementary for restraining relative rotation therebetween. A laterally protruding flange along one side edge of the rail bottom wall provides an exteriorly accessible mounting flange on the rail.

  • Patent number: 4008581
Abstract: A suction accumulator for use in a refrigerant compressing-evaporating system to accumulate in a reservoir the liquid phase of an incoming refrigerant fluid flowing into the accumulator and to control the return of the liquid to the gaseous refrigerant stream flowing out of the accumulator. A weir member located between an inlet and outlet of the accumulator vessel is utilized in conjunction with the vessel wall to form an outlet passageway or flume on one side of the weir end and a reservoir on the other side of the weir.
