Abstract: A machine for concentrating the oxygen in air for medical purposes utilizing any pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technique and comprising a combination of features to provide a light weight, reliable and compact device, especially suited for home use.
Abstract: An arm sling made of denim and of attractive design with an outside utility pocket, having an infinitely adjustable strap length, and permitting repeated opening and closing without disturbing the adjusted strap length.
Abstract: A pressure swing adsorption process and system including at least two adsorption beds and a segregated storage adsorption bed which is isolated from direct communication with the feed gas stream. During the process the pressures in the adsorption beds are equalized from the feed ends thereof at the end of adsorption in one of the beds and after pressurization of the other bed. The segregated storage adsorption bed is pressure equalized with a depressurizing adsorption bed and then after purging of the bed the segregated storage adsorption bed is equalized with that adsorption bed during repressurizing thereof. A pair of flow control valves are connected in a gas flow path connected to the outlets of the adsorption beds, each valve being located adjacent a corresponding one of the beds and allowing unrestricted flow away from the corresponding bed and controlled flow toward that bed.
Abstract: A multi-function device using two ICs, with the precision ignition pulse frequency-to-voltage converted signal produced in the RPM portion being used as input to both ICs. Chatter pulses produced by an operational amplifier in the RPM limiter are utilized to shunt ignition pulses to ground in a proportional manner as engine speed approaches the selected maximum.

Abstract: A quick release for the back rest (Fowler) of hospital stretchers. The conventional threaded crank actuator carries a mating threaded block and a sliding block, the sliding block being connected to the head rest. Manually operated hook means permits disengagement between the blocks to free the back rest. Inadvertent disengagement preventing safety means, and re-engagement means are also provided.
Abstract: Rod end caps and the method of forming same comprising the steps of using a flashless, closed die set, a predetermined shape and volume billet, warm forging temperatures, and a unique ejector. The ejector pin defines part of the mold cavity when retracted, ejects the finished parts when extended, and locates new billets when in an intermediate position.
Abstract: A kit for converting an automobile engine from a conventional water pump driven by mechanical engine power to electrical drive which is separately controllable independently of engine operation. The kit includes a conventional air conditioning blower motor, and a bracket which permits motion of the electric motor on the bracket, whereby the motor, belts, pulleys, etc. can be changed without having to remove the bracket from the water pump on the engine.

Abstract: The invention is applicable to automotive wheels which comprise a rim and a center, where the center comprises a "knuckle" or bent over portion, and comprises various forms of strengthening members on the rear side of the knuckle.
Abstract: An adaptor bolt to permit fitting wheels having a given bolt hole circle diameter to wheel studs having a different circle diameter. The kit is made up of a plurality of adaptor bolts each comprising an internally threaded bore located eccentrically in the bolt with respect to its external threads. The internal threads fit on the studs and cap nuts fit on the external threads to mount the wheel on the adaptor bolts. Friction increasing means are provided on the internal threads to hold the adaptor bolts in various adjusted positions defining different diameter bolt circles.
Abstract: A breakerless capacitive discharge ignition system is provided for use in connection with a magneto power supply. A time delay circuit is provided to delay discharge of the capacitor until it is completely charged by a pulse of electrical energy being emitted from the magneto.
Abstract: The invention pertains to "wet chemistry" analytical devices for pollutant gases in air. Numerous improvements are provided including a thermo-electric heating/cooling device which uses the atmosphere as a heat sump. Critical flow means to maintain constant pressure throughout the system is also provided.
Abstract: A drill string mounted tool for cutting a pair of spaced, vertical slots in well tubular goods comprising a pair of knives adapted to be swung outwardly, scissors style, by a piston member, which is in turn operated by well fluid pressure from the surface. Slot cutting is accomplished by vertically reciprocating the drill string carrying the tool with the knives extended.
Abstract: An analytical cell assembly comprising a base with a radiation source mounted on one end, an enclosure on the other end, and a cell proper, with cell heating means, within the enclosure. The enclosure and cell have cooperative fluid flow connections whereby the cell is modular and may be simply lifted out of the enclosure. The enclosure also includes a collimating lens assembly interposed between the cell within the enclosure and the source outside the enclosure on the base. The entire assemblage of source, enclosure and cell can be moved as a unit, making it modular, or just the cell can be moved as a module leaving the enclosure and the source in place in an instrument using the invention cell assembly.
