Abstract: A temporal-influenced geospatial modeling system and method forecasts the likelihood of desirable and undesirable events. In one aspect, the present invention designates at least one temporal feature, determines an intensity function representing an expected value of event type instances corresponding to the temporal feature, determines a time window break associated with the intensity function and assesses whether the time window break is a critical time point for the event type.

Abstract: A transaction card facilitates typical consumer transactions as well as transactions related to lottery offerings and can incorporate a reader terminal to associate lottery tickets with the transaction instrument. New gaming opportunities tied to the instrument are also facilitated, including a personalized guaranteed prize structure, a personalized and/or localized jackpot and an opportunity for winning additional prizes when making purchases using the instrument. The system according to one embodiment of the present invention provides at least a lottery data processing system for communicating a first funding amount to be applied to a multi-purpose transaction card based on winnings from a lottery offering, and a reader terminal for reading at least a portion of the transaction card, reading indicia on one or more gaming tickets, and associating the one or more gaming tickets with the transaction card.

In one embodiment, the present invention provides a system and method for the real-time, interactive, dynamic modeling and goal-solving for the pre-funding of a retirement benefit account specific to a minor child. In another embodiment, the present invention provides a system and method for the input of user variables specific to the requirements necessary for the real-time production of trust documents necessary and specific to the purpose of establishing a funded pre-retirement trust for a minor child.

Abstract: The present invention provides an entry control device, system and method which can recognize a vehicle by its undercarriage image only. The present invention compares a new vehicle undercarriage image with those stored in a reference database to facilitate the automatic search of a vehicle's undercarriage. The present invention can compare the new undercarriage image to the same or similar undercarriage image previously entered in the reference database, highlighting any anomalies such as, for example, foreign objects, explosives, drugs, paraphernalia and other illegal and/or harmful substances and devices.

Abstract: An improved composite wood adhesive extender, a method of producing the extender, and an adhesive mixture including the extender are provided, wherein the extender has performance satisfactory to the manufacturing needs of composite and ply wood products, while also extending the adhesive at a reasonable cost. The adhesive mixture may comprise a primary and secondary extender. The primary extender is composed of a wood-based product. The secondary extender of the present invention is composed of an amylaceous material comprising 100% substantially uncooked flour or starch, or an amylaceous material comprising 100% substantially uncooked flour or starch blended with a high fiber by-product. Alternatively, the secondary extender is composed of pre-gelatinized flour or starch and a mixture of pre-gelatinized flour or starch with flour comprising an advantageous quantity of raw starch. The secondary extender may substitute for about 25-40% of the primary extender on about a 1:1 ratio basis.

Abstract: Methods and systems for adjudicating claims in health services environments are presented. An exemplary method for processing service provider claims for payment includes scheduling appointments with service providers, receiving claims from the service providers, determining whether at least one scheduled appointment corresponds with at least one received claim and determining that at least one scheduled appointment has not been identified as corresponding to at least one received claim within a predetermined period of time. Optionally, the method includes presenting the particular received claim for payment when at least one of the scheduled appointments corresponds to the particular received claim.

Abstract: A system and method of printing lottery tickets produces a prize structure with ticket books containing all available prizes. A game generation file is then generated withholding the high tier prizes. A list of validation numbers is then created from ticket books that hold only low tier winning ticket values. In one embodiment, only validation numbers associated with tickets having no redemption value are included in the list Individual validation numbers are then selected at random from the created list of validation numbers, and high tier ticket prize data is assigned to each record associated with a selected validation number. The information is stored in a new file that can be contained on a separate file server from the original generation file, invoking increased access control and monitoring for additional security purposes. The new file contains the raw ticket data that is used in the printing of the tickets.

Abstract: A watercraft cockpit includes a floor, sidewalls and forward and rearward bulkheads. A frame assembly having four corners supports the cockpit and includes an upper frame and a lower frame that are rotatably connected to one another. A pair of shock-absorbing members is provided at each of the four corners of the frame so that the entire cockpit is isolated from shocks. By cushioning the entire cockpit as a whole, the need for individual shock-absorbing seats is obviated. The walls of the cockpit are spaced apart from the sidewalls of the watercraft and are interconnected to the sidewall of the watercraft by a flexible member so that the sidewalls of the watercraft move up and down in response to shocks independently of the walls of the cockpit. Each shock-absorbing member preferably includes an airbag and a dashpot but other shock-absorbing members are within the scope of the invention.

Abstract: A method for retrieving calculation results, wherein a first input or selection causes a first calculation on a database to produce an intermediate result, and a second selection or input causes a second calculation on the intermediate result, producing a final result. These results are cached with digital fingerprint identifiers. A first identifier is calculated from the first selection, and a second identifier is calculated from the second selection and the intermediate result. The first identifier and intermediate result are associated and cached, while the second identifier and final result are associated and cached. The final result may be then retrieved using the first and second selections or inputs by recalculating the first identifier and searching the cache for the first identifier associated with the intermediate result. Upon locating the intermediate result, the second identifier may be recalculated to locate the cached second identifier associated with the final result.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosed technology provide a combination electroencephalography and non-invasive stimulation devices. Upon measuring an electrical anomaly in a region of a brain, various tDCS or other electrical stimulations are utilized to correct neural activity. Devices of the disclosed technology may utilize visual, balance, auditory, and other stimuli to test the subject, analyze necessary brain stimulations, and administer stimulation to the brain.

Abstract: Disclosed is a computer implemented system and method of discerning an entity class from a query. A query is received and broken into query fragments comprised of terms. The terms of the query fragments are compared to terms belonging to one or more bag of words models with matches removed. The bag of words models to which the terms removed from the query fragments belong are remembered. The remaining n terms of the query fragments are processed to obtain query phrases containing 1-n grams from the query fragments. Each query phrase is submitted to a search engine. A sampling of snippets from the search results are extracted. Non stop words from the snippets are stemmed. A similarity score is computed for the stemmed snippet words with respect to each entity class bag of words model. Snippet entity classes are selected based on the bag of words models having the highest similarity score with the stemmed snippet words.

Abstract: A projection system having a set of projectors that cast images: (i) outwards onto the concave surface of a hemispherical dome, as is usual in planetariums and (ii) inward onto the convex surface of a centrally located sphere. The images thus cast may be coordinated by a controlling computer program, so that changes in the content or orientation of the images on the sphere result in corresponding changes in the images on the dome and vice versa.

Abstract: A piping joint assembly and fastening ring removal tool allow re-use and repair of push-fit piping fittings and valves without damage to the fitting or valve elements or the pipe. The quick connection pipe fitting assembly package of the present invention employs a threaded retaining cap that when removed, exposes the clamping, sealing and fastening mechanism of the fitting or valve. In one embodiment, the present invention further includes a removable packing gland mounted on a body about an axis of an orifice. The present invention facilitates re-use of existing fittings and valves by allowing the internal components to be removed, repaired and/or replaced.

Abstract: A pipe fitting and associated piping joint assembly package allow re-use and repair of push-fit piping fittings and valves without damage to the fitting or valve elements or the pipe, and without coining, gluing or threaded engagement of parts. In one embodiment, the present invention includes a pipe fitting having first and second radial housing elements for receiving one or more sealing members and a fastening ring, respectively. The fastening ring can be a split fastening ring. The split fastening ring and the sealing members provided as part of the present invention are capable of being removed and/or replaced.

Abstract: A method and system for storage checkpointing of an independent computer application. The independent computer application is launched by a coordinator; and the coordinator installs at least one of an exec interceptor and a fork interceptor. The coordinator also installs at least one file operations interceptor for all file operations and registers the independent computer application with the coordinator. The independent computer application is run and the at least one file operations interceptor is called upon encountering a file operation. The file operations interceptor logs a file event in a file operations database and passes the operation to at least one of a file system, an operating system, at least one or more device drivers, and a storage disk via a storage interface. The file operations interceptor also verifies that the file operation has been issued.

Abstract: The present invention provides eyeglasses including a frame and an arm connectable to the frame. The eyeglasses include a magnetic hinge connecting the arm to the frame. The magnetic hinge includes a first housing having an first inner cavity and a first outer protruding edge having a plurality of extending flanges disposed thereon, a first magnet disposed inside the first housing, a central washer including at least a portion of the central washer having magnetic attraction capabilities, a second housing having a second inner cavity and an inner lip portion radially disposed within the second inner cavity and a second magnet disposed inside the second housing. The magnetic hinge is magnetically held in place by the magnetic attraction between the first magnet and the second magnet via the central washer and the engagement of the extending flanges within the inner lip portion.
