  • Patent number: 7835453
Abstract: A driver circuit is configured as a frequency compensated differential amplifier having one input coupled to a first data signal and a second input coupled to a second data signal. Each stage of the differential amplifier is biased with a current source. The driver circuit generates a first output signal coupled to the input of a first transmission line and a second output signal coupled to the input of a second transmission line. The first and second output signals are generated as the difference between the first and second data signals amplified by a compensated gain. A compensation network that attenuates the low frequency components of the input signals relative to the high frequency components is coupled between current sources biasing the differential amplifier. The outputs of the first and second transmission lines are coupled to the inputs of a differential receiver that may or may not be frequency compensated.

  • Patent number: 7240299
Abstract: A two part method for improving the usage of a pointing device by a physically impaired user is disclosed. A first method is provided for learning how a user moves the pointing device by acquiring motion data for a user and generating motion vectors corresponding to when the user moves from source point icons to destination point icons. A second method of combining the learned user motion data with an application program where the user navigates the pointing device to select program icons on a graphical user interface (GUI) screen is provided. The method determines when the actual motion vector is similar to a previously acquired motion vector with a similar source point. The method predicts a destination point icon and highlights and locks the prediction icon until the user either actuates the iconor generates motion vectors that indicate that another destination point icon is the more likely destination.

  • Patent number: 7194195
Abstract: A system and method for converting information stored on a magnetic medium to DVD format. A tape transport mechanism may sample information stored on a magnetic medium at a selected rate where the selected rate is correlated to an available buffer size in a data processing system. The rate at which information is sampled may be less than the NTSC standard of 30 frames/second thereby requiring less storage to store the digital video representation. The sampled information may be captured and converted into a digital format. The digitized magnetic waveform may be transferred to the data processing system configured to convert the digitized magnetic signals into digitized television waveforms to recover the analog and video content. The digitized television waveforms may then be converted into a digital video representation. The digitized information may then be temporarily stored in the available buffer prior to being compressed and converted into DVD format.

  • Patent number: 7194679
Abstract: A system for reviewing files which permits comments to be inserted in files to be viewed with a hypertext browser. When the hypertext mark-up language employed is HTML, text files are converted to an HTML representation. An HTML file is represented by a linked list of objects. Comment insertion markers and comment display objects are inserted at predefined points in the HTML linked list representation. The linked list is stored as a binary file and has a comment file associated with it. Access to the HTML file by reviewers and authors causes the regeneration of the HTML document by a Common Gateway Interface which recreates the linked list representation of the document from the binary file and which then generates HTML code from the linked list. Comments may be entered by reviewers working in parallel on the HTML document. Comments are displayed as inserted at the next regeneration of the HTML document by the system.

  • Patent number: 7194619
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for remotely booting devices. A deployment server may remotely transmit authentication parameter(s), e.g., public key, secret key, to a service unit configured to establish a private connection between server blades and the deployment server. The service unit may remotely install the authentication parameter(s) onto the server blade(s) to be booted by either the deployment server or another boot server. By the service unit remotely installing the authentication parameter(s) onto the server blade(s), the need to manually install them during each network boot operation may be alleviated. By remotely transmitting authentication parameter(s) instead of manually installing them on the devices to be booted during each network boot operation, the deployment server may be able to generate unique authentication parameter(s), e.g., public/private key pair, secret key, for each network boot operation thereby substantially reducing the exposure to replay attacks.

  • Patent number: 7194603
Abstract: A methodology to process flushes in an SMT processor with a dynamically shared group completion table (GCT) and a Flush table comprises identification of incoming flush sources by thread. This uses the forward link array by flush source to determine the next instruction group following the group indicated by the flush source (for example, for mispredicts and load/store flush-next type flushes). Presentation of flush completion table entry numbers or instruction group identifiers (Gtags) to the flush table for computation of oldest flushed group tag corresponding to each thread. The flush selection cycle wherein the flush table outputs are compared against saved versions of all the flush Gtags presented to determine which flush source matches the oldest group output from the flush table. The flush source information is used with the selected oldest Gtag to determine the appropriate additional flushing action to take during the flush cycle.

  • Patent number: 7169229
Abstract: The invention pertains to a coating apparatus and method in which most of the relative movement between a dispensing head and the substrate to be coated is provided by the coating head. The moving head configuration reduces the system footprint and diminishes leveling problems. A powered shuttle mechanism carries a dispensing head above a substrate to be coated while riding on a bearing located underneath the chuck holding the substrate thereby providing rigidity and reducing the system footprint. Chuck support is designed to accommodate anticipated vertical sag in the dispensing head by supporting the chuck at points along its periphery thereby permitting the chuck to sag in conjunction with the dispensing head. The shuttle mechanism is equipped with means for automatically adjusting the height of the dispensing head with respect to substrate to compensate for substrate placement error, substrate dimensional variation, and mechanical drift in the mechanical machine parts.
