  • Patent number: 5228388
Abstract: An improved score or perforator bar device is adapted for use with certain printing presses having a blanket cylinder revolving upon an axle shaft and with an elongate slot for attachment of the blanket. The adapter device includes a bar of a length substantially the same as the cylinder with a working side having a longitudinal slot for mounting a knife blade. The knife blade has either a scoring edge or a perforation edge, depending upon the desired effect. The bar has an attachment side for connection to the blanket cylinder and has legs extending generally perpendicularly. The legs have recessed ends for bearing against the cylinder shaft so that the force of the blade is transferred to the axle shaft and not to the cylinder shell. Hooks selectively extend about the cylinder shaft. A screw arrangement retains the bar in a cylinder slot. A numbering device in lieu of the knife blade can be retained within the longitudinal slot.

  • Patent number: 5225773
Abstract: A switch probe, generally for use in testing cable harnesses, is for placement within a standard probe receptacle and can be removed and replaced as necessary. The switch probe includes a conductive barrel with a front open end and a rear closed end. A conductive first switch portion is received within the barrel at the rear closed end and includes a first shaft projecting forwardly. A conductive second switch portion is received within the barrel and has an engagement tip positioned forwardly of the barrel open end for electrical contact with a test site. A second shaft extends rearwardly and into axially spaced relation to the first shaft. An elongate hollow insulator extends fully between and provides a guideway for reciprocatory contact between the first and second shafts and fully shields the second shaft from electrical leakage prior to conductive contact of the second shaft with the first shaft.

  • Patent number: 5204615
Abstract: A module attachment for testing a linear high density array of test sites on a printed circuit board having such circuit test sites where an integrated circuit chip (IC) is to be mounted. Present IC's may have wire lead spacings as close as 0.010 inch with integrated chip development utilizing even more compact and close center pad spacing, such as 0.004 inch. This spacing is too close to use even the thinnest of spring contact probes. The module carries an array of densely packed thin wires embedded in a small matrix block mounted on spaced supports, which may be conventional, large diameter spring contact probes. Electrical connection to the array of wires in the module is done by each wire being connected to a separate wire lead with the wires bundled and routed to a test computer. In its closest wire spacings, the module permits testing of the densest IC's and in wider spacings, provides a low cost alternative to spring contact probes.

  • Patent number: 5184439
Abstract: A prestressed lightweight panel is disclosed having a face sheet under tension in the longitudinal direction and reinforcing members attached to the rear side of the face sheet for locking in that tension. The panel may be rectangular and may include side rails and end rails along the edges of the face sheet, a plurality of cross-ribs for bracing or reinforcing the face sheet and a plurality of coped reinforcing sections between the cross braces. Compression resistant members, such as a honeycomb filling extend in voids between certain of the reinforcing members and the face sheet to further reduce face sheet deflection under load. The panel has a number of applications, such as for concrete forms.

  • Patent number: 5181405
Abstract: A gooseneck trailer hitch locking device for obstructing a gooseneck coupler to prevent undesired coupling by a towing vehicle, the locking device comprising lock bodies cooperating with and obstructing the front and rear facing portions of a gooseneck coupler, a lock pin securing the lock bodies to each other, and a lock device for preventing access to the lock pin and undesired removal of the lock bodies from the coupler. The lock bodies include apertures which can be aligned with each other and with a threaded bore centrally disposed in a downward projection extending from one of the lock bodies. The lock pin is threadably received by the bore and can be extended into the aligned apertures in the lock bodies when aligned to secure the lock bodies to each other. The downward projection includes aligned openings having central axes generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the threaded bore, which openings are adapted to receive the shackle of a padlock.

  • Patent number: 5175493
Abstract: A shielded electrical contact spring probe assembly for testing electrical printed circuit boards includes an outer barrel having an open end and a remote end, an inner core of dielectric material coaxially mounted within the barrel, and an electrical contact spring probe reciprocally seated within an axial bore in the core. A shield surrounds the core between the barrel inner wall and the core and extends the full length of the barrel. A shielding plunger is located in a cylindrical space between the barrel and the shield. The probe assembly remote end is for connection of an electrical transmission line, or in an alternative embodiment, inserting a second electrical contact spring probe within the core. The configuration and material of the core and the shield enable the entire probe assembly to maintain a selected impedance.

  • Patent number: 5174607
Abstract: A clipboard arrangement includes a planar base member having a raised peripheral rim and a suction cup mounting plate hingedly mounted to a top edge of the base member. A removable clipboard assembly is selectively mounted to the planar base member and has a clamp plate at its upper edge for mounting a writing pad upon the clipboard. A bottom bracket extends outwardly from the base member to cradle and hold the clipboard bottom edge and a tang and slot juncture extends between the clipboard and the planar base member toward upper portions of the clipboard and base member so that a clipboard can be easily lifted slightly upwardly and then outwardly from the base member for carrying. Use of the clipboard arrangement permits the user to semi-permanently mount the planar base member to a suitable surface within a vehicle, such as a windshield or dashboard and then to easily remove the clipboard when going about his or her business, such as shopping or running errands.

  • Patent number: 5085278
Abstract: A foam proportioning inductor apparatus is mounted atop a supply tank for providing a quantity of fire extinguishing foam concentrate. The nozzle has a through passage for the flow of water, as in an automatic fire extinguishing system, and has a supply line branch extending into the supply tank for pressurizing the tank with water and driving out a foam concentrate through a concentrate outflow line extending from the supply tank and into the inductor nozzle downstream of a constriction. The combination of the water charge in the tank and the venturi effect created by the nozzle constriction draws the foam concentrate into the water flow stream. The concentrate outflow line has a removable and replaceable pipe section containing a selected size of orifice, permitting the pipe section to be readily changed to select different sizes of orifices to correctly proportion the foam concentrate outflow relative to the different types of foam used in contempory automatic fire fighting systems.

  • Patent number: 5080321
Abstract: A concrete form panel construction for adjoining adjacent form panel sections includes flanges or portions having opposing longitudinal grooves or apertures. Connectors extend between pairs of adjacent extension sections and have an opposed finger portion extensible into the grooves or apertures and clamp the paired extension sections together. The finger portions locate the pairs of extension sections against transverse movement and permit only, upon loosening and tightening, longitudinal movement. The advantage gained by the disclosed form panel construction is that it provides increased flexibility for concrete form construction without holes to admit concrete flashings, is adaptable to common configurations of pin lock devices and provides for a forming surface for a vertical section and a wood strip for easy nailing of a plywood floor section, as for a ceiling corner form.
