  • Patent number: 8176442
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for controlling a cursor. A user may control a cursor displayed by a computing environment such as a game console, a computer, or the like by performing one or more gestures. An activity of a cursor on an audiovisual display may be controlled based on one or more gestures of the user, a profile of the user, other inputs, or combinations thereof. Further, an appearance of a cursor on an audiovisual display may also be controlled based on one or more gestures of the user, a profile of the user, other inputs, or combinations thereof. User gestures may be detected by, for example, a capture device. For example, the capture device may capture a depth image of a scene including a user.

  • Patent number: 7496761
Abstract: A method of granting permission to use computer software resources when the user may be offline is accomplished through the use of proxy accounts. Each proxy account encapsulates a single set of user credentials. A set of user credentials contains at least a user name and a secret identifier, such as a password. These credentials are used by a scheduler function as an agent for the user to utilize computer resources to run jobs or tasks on behalf of the user. An embodiment of the invention allows for many different proxy account objects each having one set of credentials. The credentials are used at runtime to impersonate the user and allow a job to run. The job may involve multiple software subsystems. The architecture allows multiple proxy accounts to be created which allows system administrators flexibility in assigning different permissions to different users across multiple software environments.

  • Patent number: 7317104
Abstract: Chelants and macrocyclic metal complexes thereof, methods of preparing the chelants and macrocyclic metal complexes, and radiopharmaceutical compositions comprising the macrocyclic metal complexes are disclosed. Methods of using the macrocyclic metal complexes as radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disorders, infectious diseases and cancer are also disclosed. Chelants as bifunctional chelators (BFCs) for the radiolabeling of target-specific biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, peptidomimetics, non-peptide receptor ligands, enzyme inhibitors, and enzyme substrates are disclosed. Methods of using macrocyclic metal complexes containing the chelant-biomolecule conjugates as target-specific diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals that selectively localize at sites of disease and allow an image to be obtained of the loci using gamma scintigraphy are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7267878
Abstract: A moisture-curing hot-melt-adhesive composition in granulate, tablet or powder form can be produced by a.) fusing the reactive hot-melt-adhesive composition and heating the melt, subject to exclusion of moisture, b.) extruding this melt through one or more dies onto a cooled surface, subject to exclusion of moisture, c.) cooling the granulate, subject to exclusion of moisture, whereby the composition solidifies, d.) removing the cooled hot-melt-adhesive granulate, e.) filling the granulate into moisture-tight packages, subject to exclusion of moisture. These reactive hot-melt adhesives are pourable and free-flowing and therefore can be used with all conventional application machines for hot-melt adhesives.

  • Patent number: 7262977
Abstract: A switching-mode power supply capable of causing conduction through a synchronous rectifier switch exactly when required. Included is a transformer having a primary winding connected to a pair of DC input terminals via an active switch, and a secondary winding connected to a pair of DC output terminals via a synchronous rectifier and a smoothing capacitor. The synchronous rectifier is a parallel connection of a synchronous rectifier switch and a diode. In order to cause conduction through the synchronous rectifier switch while the diode is conducting, there is provided a synchronous rectifier control circuit comprising two current sources, a conduction period determination circuit, and a synchronous rectifier switch control pulse forming circuit.

  • Patent number: 7194733
Abstract: Instructions in an asynchronous transactional messaging language are transformed into instructions that are compatible with the web services. In one embodiment, the asynchronous transactional messaging language is XLANG/s, and the web service languages are the web services description language (WSDL) and the simple object access protocol (SOAP). A programmer simply writes high level declarative statements that pertain to the specific type of business transaction. During compilation, selected instructions are transformed into instructions that are compatible with web services. This transformation is transparent to the designer of the business application. The asynchronous transactional messaging language source files are compiled in an iterative compilation process. During each pass of this compilation process, different variables are parsed. The parsed results are logically organized in a tree structure. The tree structure is traversed in depth first traversal order.

  • Patent number: 7180901
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for parallel compression and decompression of a bitstream. For compression, the bitstream is separated into a plurality of components, and the components are encoded using a compression algorithm. Packets are then constructed from the encoded components. At least one packet is associated with each encoded component and comprises header information and encoded data. The packets are combined into a packetized encoded bitstream. For decompression, the packets are separated from the packetized encoded bitstream using the header information. The packets are then decoded in parallel using a decompression algorithm to recover the encoded data. The plurality of components are reconstructed from the recovered encoded data and combined to-recover the bitstream.

  • Patent number: 7049359
Abstract: The present invention provides a wall for a package, which wall comprises, or includes a layer comprising, a composition comprising a polymer and capable of scavenging oxygen through the metal-catalysed oxidation of an oxidizable organic component thereof. The oxidizable organic component is preferably itself a polymer, and may be the only polymer in the composition. Preferred compositions include a blend of 96% polyethylene terephthalate and 4% poly (m-xylyleneadipamide) containing 200 ppm cobalt as catalyst, with good permeance-versus-time performance (3) when formed into a bottle.

  • Patent number: 6751301
Abstract: A computer-based administration tool migrates user's names and greetings from a first voice mail system to a second voice mail system. Illustratively, the administration tool accesses the first voice mail system for recording, or storing, each of a plurality of users names and greetings. The administration tool then sends them to the second voice mail system for use therein.
