Patent number: 8603838Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a contact for solar cells (30) arranged in a laminated solar panel (1), wherein the solar cells (30) are coated on both sides of the main surfaces thereof with at least one layer and before a lamination step the solar cells (30) are connected with electrically-conducting connectors (31, 33), the electrically conducting connectors (31, 33) being arranged in the solar panel for laminating such as to be completely laminated within the solar panel (1) after the lamination step. After the lamination step a contact region (35) of the electrically-conducting connector (33) is exposed, wherein at least one of the layers covering the solar cells is completely punched through in the corresponding region, in particular by stripping. The contact region (35) of the electrically-conducting connector (33) can then be contacted by means of an externally-accessible contact element.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2009Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignees: 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG, Guedel AGInventors: Rudolf Güdel, Marcel Blanchet, Roland Kappaun, Walter Zulauf, Rudolf Heid, Hans-Ulrich Kurt

Patent number: 8597013Abstract: The invention describes a tensioning rail (3) for a membrane (2) of a membrane press. To allow a simpler and more rapid assembly and disassembly of the membrane (2) than in known devices, the tensioning rail includes a support rail (8), in which at least one tensioning strip (13) is mounted detachably, whereby the tensioning strip (13) is designed for securely clamping onto the edge of the membrane (2). In this way it is possible to equip a new replacement membrane (2) with tensioning strips (13) independently and outside of the membrane press, which then only need to be attached to the support rail (8). In this case the support rail does not need to be disassembled, but remains on the membrane press the whole time. A further essential advantage is that the tensioning rail (3) can also be installed into existing membrane presses, for example as a replacement for an existing securing device for the membrane.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2009Date of Patent: December 3, 2013Assignee: 3S Swiss Solar Systems AGInventors: Beat Strebel, Roland Kappaun, Roman Polo

Publication number: 20120273126Abstract: A system and method for laminating a module. The system comprises a membrane adapted to apply a pressure on the module to press a plurality of layers of the module together, an intermediate member adapted to prevent gases set free during a lamination process from making contact with the membrane, and a base for retaining the module, wherein the membrane and the base are capable of forming a vacuum chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2010Publication date: November 1, 2012Applicant: 3S SWISS SOLAR SYSTEMS AGInventors: Roman Polo, Ronald Lange, Alessandro Chimenti, Beat Strebel, Juerg Zahnd

Publication number: 20120138236Abstract: The machine has a heated plate, a conveyor for conveying the elements along a conveyor path leading across the heated plate, a top part vertically movable with respect to the heated plate, a membrane disposed on the top part and a separating film disposed between the membrane and the heated plate which can be moved synchronously with the conveyor. The separating film is divided into sections and every section is retained exclusively by a single edge oriented transversely to the conveying path by a retaining device. The sections therefore sit loosely on the elements free of tension. The membrane lies against a peripherally extending peripheral face of the top part facing the heated plate and can be moved directly onto the plane of the surface of the heated plate in order to form a closed chamber with it. Finally, the membrane is connected to a clamping device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2012Publication date: June 7, 2012Applicant: 3S SWISS SOLAR SYSTEMS AGInventors: Juerg ZAHND, Christoph BOOS

Publication number: 20120073746Abstract: Processes and apparatus for producing laminated solar panels built up of a plurality of layers, wherein at least one layer is preheated and stores thermal energy. The at least one layer is laminated, under vacuum or in controlled gas atmosphere, with at least one other layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2011Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: 3S Swiss Solar Systems AGInventors: Juerg ZAHND, Ronald LANGE, Roman POLO, Markus GMUER

Patent number: 8122929Abstract: The machine (1) has a heated plate (5), conveyor means (6) for conveying the elements (4) along a conveyor path leading across the heated plate (5), a top part (8) which can be moved vertically with respect to the heated plate (5), a membrane (9) disposed on the top part (8) and a separating film (10) disposed between the membrane (9) and the heated plate (5) which can be moved synchronously with the conveyor means. The separating film (10) is divided into sections (11) and every section (11) is retained exclusively by a single edge oriented transversely to the conveying path by retaining means (32). The sections (11) therefore sit loosely on the elements (4) free of tension. The membrane (9) lies against a peripherally extending peripheral face (46) of the top part (8) facing the heated plate (5) and can be moved directly onto the plane of the surface of the heated plate (5) in order to form a closed chamber with it. Finally, the membrane (9) is connected to clamping means (25, 26, 27).Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2006Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: 3S Swiss Solar Systems AGInventors: Juerg Zahnd, Christoph Boos

Publication number: 20110119898Abstract: In a method for processing a laminate, which comprises at least one solid plate, particularly a glass plate, prior to a lamination step at least one location marking is applied to the solid plate and at least one distance and/or angle value of the solid plate is determined with respect to the location marking. Following the lamination step, the laminate is processed, wherein the laminate and a processing tool are automatically positioned relative to each other as a function of the location marking and the at least one distance and/or angle value. Prior to lamination, the solid plate can be easily measured, the edge thereof can be detected both mechanically (such as by a sensor) and without contact (such as optically, by way of a camera), and common, in particular automated, methods can be used for measuring.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2009Publication date: May 26, 2011Applicants: GÜDEL GROUP AG, 3S SWISS SOLAR SYSTEMS AGInventors: Marcel Blanchet, Roland Kappaun, Walter Zulauf, Hans-Ulrich Kurt, Rudolf Güdel, Rudolf Heid
