Patent number: 4426872Abstract: Method and apparatus for making certain types of parts which are stepped in one plane and curved in other planes transverse to the planes in which they are stepped. The invention uses a specially shaped billet which is formed into the part in a closed flashless die set at warm forging temperatures.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1981Date of Patent: January 24, 1984Assignee: W-F Industries, Inc.Inventor: David A. Patent number: 4395058Abstract: A clip is provided for use in the suspension filing of magazines, journals and like articles having sheets or pages held together in a spinal portion. The clip comprises a bifurcate part having two fingers engageable respectively inside and outside the spinal portion of a magazine to grip the spinal portion between them, and a hook part engageable over a side rail of a suspension filing system. By inserting a clip at each end of the spinal portion of a magazine and engaging the hooks over the two parallel rails of a suspension filing system, the magazine can be suspended with its spinal portion performing the function of the normal cross-bar in such a system.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1981Date of Patent: July 26, 1983Assignee: W. F. Industries, Inc.Inventor: Christopher E. Terrell

Patent number: 4377085Abstract: A segmented female die for use in a closed die set comprising a pair of similar center segments and a pair of similar "half moon" shaped outside segments. The four segments also define the ejector pin opening. The die segments are prevented from relative motion between themselves by interlocks comprising closely mating protrusions and guideways which, in cooperation with other means, produce a rigid female die. The interlocks permit the use of relatively simple manufacturing techniques such as grinding as opposed to more sophisticated techniques such as electrical discharge machining.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1980Date of Patent: March 22, 1983Assignee: W-F Industries, Inc.Inventors: Richard P. McDermott, Ernest J. Brown

Patent number: 4254942Abstract: A scarfing torch adapted for manual manipulation which includes means disposed in said torch to provide a component of force upon the torch to offset forces upon the torch generated either by the flow of oxygen gas used in the scarfing process or gravity. The offsetting force is provided by the release of a secondary fluid from the torch in the appropriate direction. The secondary fluid may be released to impinge upon the surface of the workpiece being scarfed.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1979Date of Patent: March 10, 1981Assignee: A. F. Industries, Inc.Inventors: Arthur H. Fieser, Charles H. Anderson, Jr.

Patent number: 4193313Abstract: A carrier film composed of an ultra high molecular weight high density polyethylene is disclosed herein. The carrier film has a pair of opposed surfaces and a pair of opposed edges. The carrier film is perforated with a plurality of circular apertures. One of the opposed surfaces of the carrier film is roughened to carry a plurality of tobacco leaves to a wrapping machine. Tobacco leaves are held on the carrier strip by a vacuum and wound and stored on a spool. After a selected aging period the carrier strip is unwound from the spool and the tobacco leaves and carrier strip are sprayed with an adhesive. The carrier strip then releases the tobacco leaves adjacent a wrapping machine and is washed, dried and cooled.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1977Date of Patent: March 18, 1980Assignee: T & F Industries, Inc.Inventor: Warren E. Frandsen

Patent number: 4165146Abstract: An electrical wiring device, which may be an incandescent lamp socket, receptacle, switch, pilot light or any other wiring device intended for mounting in an opening of a metal sheet, has a mounting means of the snap-in spring type, including divergent spring arms formed with sheet engaging elements on their free ends, that have serrations adapted to engage opposed corners of the mounting opening formed in the metal sheet or plate in which the wiring device is to be supported. The serrations differ from conventional types used in springs of this type in that the portion of the spring arm in which the serrations are formed has a centrally depressed area which offsets inwardly, from the general plane of the teeth, all but the side edge portions of the portion of the spring arm in which the serrations are formed.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1978Date of Patent: August 21, 1979Assignee: Circle F Industries, Inc.Inventor: Charles A. Snyder
