  • Patent number: 8738370
Abstract: A speech analyzer includes a speech acquiring section, a frequency converting section, an autocorrelation section, and a pitch detection section. The frequency converting section converts the speech signal acquired by the speech acquiring section into a frequency spectrum. The autocorrelation section determines an autocorrelation waveform by shifting the frequency spectrum along the frequency axis. The pitch detection section determines the pitch frequency from the distance between two local crests or troughs of the autocorrelation waveform.

  • Patent number: 6443300
Abstract: A new DVD or CD package has thin disc-retaining straps which are vertically rigid and are bendable horizontally between bi-stable opposite curves. Opposite edges of discs are held by inward curved straps. A user flexes the straps outward into outer stable positions before removing the discs. Closing the cover of the box moves the straps to their inward curved stable positions. Ramps attached to the spine and to the outer edge of the cover push the straps inward. The ramps, or ribs, also prevent the straps from being pushed to an unlocked position when the case is closed. The straps are molded in inward, disc-holding positions through openings in the back of the tray. The straps are configured to hold one or more discs positioned in the cylindrical well of the tray, which is formed by four segmental curved walls. Finger wells extend between the segmental walls and through the base of the tray and are preferably located at 90° intervals to the straps to provide ease in removing the discs.

  • Patent number: 6401920
Abstract: Discs are held locked in a tray by flex arms with disc-retaining extensions overlying inner peripheral areas adjacent the central opening of the uppermost disc. A push button is held within a disc-centering boss. Lock tab detents extending from the push button hold the push button above an inner edge of an annular shelf on the centering boss. The push button is connected to the flex arms with goose neck connectors. Pressing inward on the flex arms tends to move the goose necks to draw the push button downward. In the locked, tamper-evident position, the lock tabs prevent the push button from moving downward, and thus hold the disc-retaining extensions over inner surface areas of the disc.

  • Patent number: 5369938
Abstract: The present invention comprises a process for manufacturing a single piece multi-purpose box from a board blank and a wrap. The process includes using an in-line scanner to align a board blank with a printed wrap along pre-cut notches so that the board blank and wrap may be wrapped together and folded once aligned, without additional cutting and without leaving any rough edges along the spine. This improved process is faster, by removing the cutting step, and is cleaner, by leaving no rough edges, than the processes previously known in the art.
