Patent number: 11815886Abstract: A system comprises a ship having one or more maneuvering units for controlling the speed and direction of the ship. The ship comprises a ship control unit configured to send signals to the one or more maneuvering units to maneuver the ship and a transmitter-receiver connected to the control unit and configured to transmit and receive information. The system comprises a remote-control center remote from the ship. The remote-control center comprises a transmitter-receiver 16 configured to receive situation information of the ship. The remote-control center comprises a remote-control unit configured to determine pilot-control information for maneuvering the ship based on the situation information and configured to transmit the pilot-control information to the ship via the transmitter-receiver of the remote-control center. The transmitter-receiver of the ship is configured to receive the pilot-control information.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2020Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: A.P. Patent number: 11789443Abstract: A system for controlling a ship 1 comprises a ship 1 having: a ship control unit 204 configured to determine situation information of the ship 1; and a transmitter-receiver 12 connected to the ship control unit 204 and configured to transmit the situation information. A remote control centre 18 remote from the ship 1 comprises a transmitter-receiver 16 configured to receive situation information of the ship 1; and a remote control unit 202 configured to determine pilot-control information for maneuvering the ship 1 based on the situation information and configured to transmit the pilot-control information to the ship 1 via the transmitter-receiver 16 of the remote control centre 18. The ship control unit 204 or the remote control unit 202 is configured to determine a quality of a connection between the transmitter-receiver 12 of the ship 1 and the transmitter-receiver 16 of the remote control centre 18.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2020Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: A.P. Publication number: 20160216028Abstract: Techniques for remotely monitoring the operation of a cargo shipping reefer container configured with a refrigeration system that has installed therewith a control computer coupled with sensors monitoring the operation of the refrigeration system include: collecting a first and second set of observation data comprising a respective first and second sequence of measurement values measured by sensors coupled to the control computer; running a simulation model that receives the first set of observation data as input and outputs simulated values; the simulation model is configured to output the simulated values as estimates of the second set of the observations; computing an indicator value as a function of residual values computed from the difference between the values of the second set of observations and the simulated values; and evaluating the indicator value against a predefined criterion and issuing an alarm signal in case the predefined criterion is exceeded.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2013Publication date: July 28, 2016Applicant: A.P. Publication number: 20110120801Abstract: An admission system, particularly for containers, with a raiseable platform. The system includes towers of carryable profiles with at least one longitudinal recess adapted for interference by at least one steering element. Each profile has an end portion adapted for interference with other carryable profiles. The profiles have the same cross-section and can be joined. Interlocking elements are placed between the profiles for joining. A toothed rack extends along the longitudinal direction of the profiles. A guiding element for connection with a working platform is connected to the at least one steering element and includes a pinion meshing with the toothed rack and a transmission for driving the pinion. Support elements are provided for attaching the profiles to a structure or other profiles. The invention also includes a method for assembly of such a system, a profile, a guiding element and support elements for such a system.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2009Publication date: May 26, 2011Applicants: NORACON AS, A.P MØLLER-MAERSK ASInventors: Ole Petter Stromland, Willy Arnold Fagerland

Patent number: 7414014Abstract: A method and system to reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact in a two-stroke engine. Fresh system oil having a TBN less than 10 is provided and used in the two-stroke engine to produce partially used system oil. The partially used system oil is withdrawn from the two stroke engine and at least one friction modifier is added to at least some of the withdrawn partially used system oil, wherein the addition of the at least one friction modifier reduces the friction coefficient of the withdrawn system oil, resulting in a system oil having reduced friction. The system oil with reduced friction is combined with partially used system oil remaining in said two-stroke and the combined system oil is used to lubricate pistons of said two-stroke engine.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2004Date of Patent: August 19, 2008Assignee: A.P.
