  • Patent number: 4691529
Abstract: A refrigerator is provided with a freezing chamber (16) which is cooled by the evaporator (24) of an absorption refrigerating apparatus. A machine (44) for automatic making and emitting of pieces (46) of ice is located in the freezing chamber (16). The machine (44) is cooled by the evaporator (36) of a compression refrigerating apparatus. When the machine (44) has produced the pieces (46) of ice, the evaporator (24) of the absorption refrigerating apparatus (22) keeps the pieces of ice frozen.

  • Patent number: 4668856
Abstract: A method of controlling the heating of an aqueous load in a cooking utensil, which is placed on an electrically heated cooking plate or hob. During the heating process, at repeated occasions measured values are collected relating to the temperature (T.sub.p) of the cooking plate and the temperature (T.sub.k) of the cooking utensil, respectively, and at each occasion of measurement and end temperature (T.sub.v end) of the load is calculated from the collected measured values, which end temperature would be achieved if the power supply to the cooking plate was disrupted at that time. The power supply to the cooking plate is disrupted when the calculated end temperature (T.sub.v end) equals a preset temperature value.

  • Patent number: 4656837
Abstract: A safety arrangement in a gas-operated apparatus, such as an absorption refrigerator, having a safety device that controls the gas system and, when required, automatically re-ignites the flame of the gas burner that has become extinguished. The system has a thermostat that is connected to a switch for opening a gas valve when it is necessary to supply gas to the burner. A filament or igniter is also provided which is arranged adjacent to the burner and has a switch which breaks the circuit to the gas valve when a sensor or flame detector at the burner is exposed to a flame.

  • Patent number: 4653189
Abstract: An electro-mechanical brake in a motor saw requires electric energy for the operation of the brake. This energy can, according to the invention, be surplus energy in the ignition system of the saw. Surplus energy exists usually only when the r.p.m. exceeds a certain value. A capacitor is charged by current from the system and is prepared to discharge through a coil to actuate the brake on a signal from a kickback sensor.

  • Patent number: 4651147
Abstract: A device for setting a numeric display (11) comprises a continuously turnable potentiometer (12) by which the setting area can be repeatedly passed through by turning in the same direction. The potentiometer and the display are connected to a computer (10), preferably a microcomputer. The computer is arranged to repeatedly sense the instantaneous resistance value of the potentiometer or a parameter representing said value. Further, the computer is arranged to store the first one (T.sub.1 high) of a series of measurement values and for each subsequent measurement value (T.sub.2 high) in the series to determine if the difference between the present and the first measurement value exceeds a reference value (T.sub.diff), in which case the display (11) is operated to increase or decrease its value by one step of a predetermined magnitude.

  • Patent number: 4648375
Abstract: A capacitor ignition system of magnet type comprises a charging winding (10), a trigger winding (11), an ignition coil (13) and an ignition switch (14) with electronic control means, in this case a micro-processor (16). For practical, economical reasons the voltage of the charging winding cannot be used for current supply to the electronic control means as this voltage is several hundred volts. In the trigger winding the chosen voltage can be a few volts which is a proper voltage for the control means. The trigger winding of the invention has double functions: to generate a reference voltage for spark release (triggering) and to be an energy source for the electronic control means.

  • Patent number: 4638775
Abstract: A hand starter for an internal combustion engine having an axially displaceable clutch member journalled on a clutch shaft, for co-acting with a fixed clutch member on the engine shaft. The axial movement of the displaceable clutch member, caused by pulling a start rope, is guided by a helical spring wound in a helical groove on the clutch shaft. The outer periphery of the spring is resiliently pressed against friction producing threads of a cylindrical bearing surface of the displaceable clutch member, to exert an axial force against the axially displaceable clutch member.

  • Patent number: 4633832
Abstract: In engine-powered machines (motor cutting saw, motor chain saw) with a centrifugal clutch a wearing on the clutch and belt takes place by a high load at an r.p.m. around or above the skidding r.p.m. of the centrifugal clutch. A step for reducing the said wearing can--according to the invention--be taken by limiting the driving torque of the engine in the above-said r.p.m. interval. The invention means that the cutting machine/motor saw is provided with electronic equipment counting r.p.m. and then controlling the ignition system so that the torque of the engine is lowered in a predetermined interval. In a cutting machine ignition is allowed in, for example, every third revolution within the interval 3000-6000 r.p.m. The working mode can also be widened so that the time difference between several revolutions is detected.

  • Patent number: 4602178
Abstract: An electric rotating device, such as a commutator motor is provided with a stator supporting two terminal blocks of electrically insulating material. The terminal blocks are provided with a series of grooves in which wire ends of the stator windings are inserted. At least one of the grooves has an entrance part in the form of a slit and being defined by a resilient tongue having rounded edges. The tongue and the adjacent winding form a V-shaped entrance opening leading to the entrance part of the groove. The wire ends of the windings are guided by the grooves to terminal pins to which they are connected.

  • Patent number: 4491105
Abstract: The invention relates to limiting of the r.p.m. on start of a power tool. At the same time the throttle control is locked in a starting position by a retaining member, a circuit in the ignition system is switched in to prevent ignition at an r.p.m. higher than the switching r.p.m. of the centrifugal clutch. The tool thus remains at low speeds during starting.

  • Patent number: 4142120
Abstract: A commutator motor constructed and arranged to provide cooling and removal of carbon dust produced during operation. The motor comprises a housing, a stator consisting of a plurality of laminations embedded in the housing and defining at least a pair of circumferentially spaced yoke portions and pole portions intermediate the yoke portions. The rotor is rotatably supported in the stator cavity. The yoke portions are of a predetermined configuration defining first axial channels having inlet and outlet openings to facilitate flow of cooling medium through the channels in one direction. A commutator chamber is provided at one axial end of the rotor and separated from the rotor cavity by a circumferentially extending wall.
