Patent number: 4971531Abstract: A compressed air pump comprising a compressed air piston motor (11) having a cylinder housing (12) and a low pressure piston (22) moveable between first and second end wall parts (13, 14) and a hydraulic piston pump (15) in the second end wall part (14). One side of the low pressure piston and the first end wall part together define a working chamber (21) and the other side of the piston (22) abuts and drives the hydraulic piston (24). A pilot piston (25), which is controlled by the low pressure piston (22) controls the supply of compressed air to the working chamber (21). A spring powers the return stroke of the low pressure piston and the hydraulic piston. The pilot piston (25) is housed in a pilot cylinder (35) incorporated in the first end wall part (13) and is mounted for movement between a first position and a second position. In the first position compressed air can be passed from an inlet (17) in the end wall part to the working chamber.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1989Date of Patent: November 20, 1990Assignee: AB NikeInventor: Vilho Aikioniemi

Patent number: 4148210Abstract: A pull clamp is provided for attaching to sheet metal flanges for transmission of pulling forces to the sheet metal, particularly in collision repair operations. The clamp comprises a pair of opposed clamping jaws adapted to be tightened against each other by bolts and have at one end opposite clamping surfaces for engagement with the sheet metal flange, the jaws furthermore enclosing a connecting member for coupling to a pulling means, said member including a conical wedge element for exerting a spreading-apart action of the inner surfaces of the jaws and hence through the bolts increase the clamping force between the clamping surfaces of the jaws in proportion to the pull of the pulling means.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1977Date of Patent: April 10, 1979Assignee: AB Nike HydraulikInventor: Bengt A. Patent number: 4050287Abstract: A method for the repair of damaged vehicle body structure by mounting the vehicle upon frame apparatus of the type adapted for applying forces to selected portions of the damaged vehicle body to restore the vehicle body and/or frame to its original configuration and for concurrently making measurements relative to selected datum points. A plurality of parallel, generally horizontal spaced rigid supporting beams are secured to the underside of the vehicle body, transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The vehicle is raised with the transverse beams secured thereto a sufficient distance to permit the insertion underneath said transverse beams of a rigid substantially rectangular frame whose width is less than the length of the transverse beams and whose length exceeds that of the vehicle body.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1976Date of Patent: September 27, 1977Assignee: AB Nike HydraulikInventor: Jorgen Borup

Patent number: 4037822Abstract: A scissors jack for raising motor vehicles and the like comprises two pairs of links forming an angle with each other in substantially a common plane and pivotally connected with each other at their free ends. The links in each pair are also pivotally connected with each other on a pivot axis, and an actuating fluid power cylinder is mounted between said pair of pivot axes of the pairs of links for varying the distance therebetween. The improvement consists therein that the two pairs of links are turned in the same direction and that the fluid power cylinder is located in its entirety between said pairs of links and adapted to spread apart said pivot axes when raising.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1975Date of Patent: July 26, 1977Assignee: AB Nike HydraulikInventor: Giovanni Barcella

Patent number: 4023394Abstract: Method and apparatus for the repair of damaged vehicle body structure of the type in which the apparatus is secured to the vehicle body or frame and supports force-applying apparatus and measuring apparatus to permit concurrently the repair of damaged parts and the making of measurements relative to selected datum points. The apparatus comprises a pair of beam members each of which movably supports thereon a pair of clamping means for clamping to the underside of the vehicle body so as to permit these two beam members to be clamped in horizontal parallel spaced relationship to each other transversely to the vehicle's longitudinal axis. A means such as a pair of supporting wheels affixed to each of the transverse beams holds the beams and the attached vehicle in an elevated position to permit the insertion under the transverse beams of a rigid rectangular frame whose length at least equals that of the vehicle body and whose width is less than the length of each transverse beam.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1975Date of Patent: May 17, 1977Assignee: AB Nike HydraulikInventor: Jorgen Borup
