Patents Assigned to ABB Daimler-Benz Transportation (Deutschland) GmbH
  • Patent number: 6070369
Abstract: In a person transport vehicle, a roof structure is fixed on longitudinal sidewalls (1). In order to achieve a simple but highly functional structure, a longitudinal beam (3) for the roof is fixed to the area of the top side edges of each longitudinal side wall (1) and is provided with an at least approximately horizontal leg. The horizontal legs extend toward each other and carry in a weld-free and watertight manner an inherently stable roof plate (5) provided with integrated longitudinal channels (6, 7).

  • Patent number: 5943959
Abstract: A partially spring-loaded drive, particularly for electrically-powered rail vehicles, having a gear which, including an encapsulating gear housing, is seated on the wheel axle, and a pinion that is seated in the gear housing. The coupled motor is fixedly secured to the truck, and the resilient, elastic fastening of the gear housing to the truck is effected by way of at least two elastic spring elements that are mounted nearly vertically and diametrically opposite the pinion shaft, and whose lines of influence extend through the center of the pinion shaft.

  • Patent number: 5775231
Abstract: A rail vehicle has a longitudinal direction and includes an undercarriage, a crossbeam held against the undercarriage, extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the superstructure and adapted for being seated on a bogie or similar structure. A mechanism is provided for elastically holding the crossbeam to the undercarriage.

  • Patent number: 5690034
Abstract: A composite push-pull bar for use in a rail vehicle includes end-side connecting elements for axial introduction of compressive and tractive forces; and a rod-shaped structural element disposed between the end-side connecting elements for take-up and transmission of compressive and tractive forces. The rod-shaped element comprises a longitudinally extending core, a prestressed composite winding, including a defined number of wrappings of one or several reinforcing fibers embedded in a cured matrix material, applied in a longitudinal direction of the core so as to leave opposite longitudinal sides of the core not covered by the winding, the winding extending over the connecting elements and two skins arranged on the opposite longitudinal sides of the core not covered by the winding to form a sandwich structure with the core and which remain rigid under compression in their longitudinal direction.
