  • Publication number: 20050115335
Abstract: A description is given of a Coriolis mass flowmeter, with a measuring pipe oscillating in coupled flexural and torsional modes. Mechanically connected to the measuring pipe is an attachment which is formed rotationally symmetrically with respect to an axis of rotational symmetry and can be induced to undergo the torsional oscillations of the measuring pipe. • Patent number: 6745997
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for operating an actuator which is used to open and close valves in pipelines in order to avoid pressure surges and resonances during the closing operation in pipelines to be shut off. The closing operation of the valve is subdivided into two closing phases (S1 and S2). During the first closing phase (S1), the actuating element is moved at maximum actuating speed down to a predefinable position (P) of the actuating element, starting from the open state of the valve. From this position (P), the actuating speed of the actuating element is reduced continuously and steplessly with a predefinable gradient. Additionally when the actuating speed in the second closing phase is reduced to a predefinable constant value the method and apparatus may include a third phase during which the actuator maintains that speed value until the valve is closed.

  • Patent number: 6739179
Abstract: A measuring device for determining the oxygen content in gases is described. The measuring device is disposed between two magnets that are positioned at a distance from one another. The measuring device is equipped with a sensor that is held rotatably within a frame. The sensor has two parallelepipedic bodies that are both made hollow or solid and are connected to one another via a web-shaped structural element. The web-shaped structural element is fastened to the frame via at least one holding element, so that the sensor can be rotated about its center of gravity. The amount of rotation is dependent on the quantity of oxygen that is concentrated between the two magnets. A current can be conducted through a conductor track led on the surface of the sensor and generates a correspondingly high restoring force by which the sensor is brought into the position of rest again.

  • Patent number: 6685231
Abstract: An insulation piece for a pipeline conveys electrically conductive liquids from a point that is at a ground potential to a point connected to a high voltage. The liquid is conveyed discontinuously by portion-by-portion transport by the carriage flow of the liquid being interrupted.
