The method includes loading a pre-manufactured article comprising thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material into a mold; loading pellets of an expanded thermoplastic polyurethane (eTPU) material into said mold; and connecting the pellets with each other and to the pre-manufactured TPU article by providing an interconnecting medium, wherein the material of the pre-manufactured TPU article either comprises an additive to increase the viscosity of the material of the pre-manufactured TPU article, or has been annealed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for designing of a piece of apparel in particular an upper of a shoe, comprising the steps of providing at least one first panel including a plurality of feature points in an essentially two-dimensional configuration, arranging the at least one first panel on a first reference body in a three-dimensional configuration representing the piece of apparel to be designed, generating a first mapping between the two-dimensional configuration of the at least one first panel and the three-dimensional configuration of the at least one first panel using the plurality of feature points and designing the piece of apparel using the first mapping.

Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein provide a geo-targeted online reservation system that ensures authenticity of customer devices requesting reservations by generating reservations only if threshold authentication conditions are satisfied. For example, a computing device registered with a server system receives inputs for requesting a reservation of a limited release product and for configuring the product. To authenticate the computing device, the server device transmits an electronic message to the computing device requesting the computing device to respond. A response to the message is one threshold authentication condition for generating the reservation. Upon determining that one or more threshold authentication conditions are satisfied, the server device generates a reservation for the product.

Abstract: Described are soles for a shoe, in particular for a sports shoe, with a midsole. The midsole includes a first sole region, which includes particle foam. The midsole further includes a deformation region within the midsole, wherein the deformation region has a volume greater than that of a single expanded particle and is positioned so that it allows a sideward deformation of the material of the first sole region under a pressure load on the sole.

A method is provided for manufacturing a cushioning element for sports apparel from randomly arranged particles of an expanded material.
