Abstract: A flexible, heated, non-allergenic mat particularly adapted for use with animals has a flexible layer of recycled crumb rubber formed under heat and pressure with resin. A reflective sheet is disposed in the flexible layer for reflecting heat. A wire forming a heating element is disposed in the flexible layer above the reflective sheet for heating the mat in response to an applied electric current. A plug and socket may be formed in an edge of the flexible layer so that adjacent mats may be electrically coupled to form a larger heated surface.
