Abstract: The eight-gear transmission comprises an input shaft (AN), an output shaft (AB), four planetary gearsets (RS1, RS2, RS3, RS4) and five gearshifting elements (A, B, C, D, E). The carrier (ST4) of the fourth gearset (RS4) and input shaft (AN) are connected. The carrier (ST3) of the third gearset (RS3) and output shaft (AB) are connected, and can be connected via the third gearshifting element (C) to the sun gear (SO3) of the third gearset (RS3). The sun gears (SO1, SO4) of the first and fourth gearsets (RS1, RS4) are connected and can be set via the first gearshifting element (A). The ring gear (HO1) of the first gearset (RS1) can be set via the second gearshifting element (B). The carrier (ST1) of the first gearset (RS1) and ring gear (HO3) of the third gearset (RS3) are connected. The ring gear (HO4) of the fourth gearset (RS4) can be connected via the fifth gearshifting element (E) with the sun gear (SO3) of the third gearset (RS3).
