Abstract: Techniques for distribution of application logic in digital networks are disclosed. In one embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a method that includes receiving a request from a first device to initiate a service instance associated with a service. The service instance is associated with application logic. The method further includes determining one or more parameters associated with the request, identifying at least a portion of the application logic to distribute to a mobile edge server based on the one or more parameters, and distributing the at least a portion of the application logic to the mobile edge server to cause the mobile edge server to provide the service instance to the first device.

  • Publication number: 20200259712
Abstract: Systems and methods for rollback of model-based provisioned network device configuration including a memory capable of storing a model-based provisioned data template that includes a data template sequence. Data associated with a request to transmit a target object request message are received and transmitted following a retrieval message that determines pre-configuration data of the target device. The pre-configuration data is stored and the target object request message is sent specifying CRUD semantics. A notification is received indicating an outcome of the execution and, if the execution outcome is unsuccessful, a rollback stack is retrieved that specifies CRUD semantics and the pre-configuration parameters are retrieved to restore the target device to a pre-request state. If the execution outcome is successful, a second target object request message is retrieved from a list of target devices.

  • Patent number: 10548140
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a method of assigning resources to eNodeBs in a mobility management entity (MME) pool, including determining a first relative capacity for a first eNodeB based on at least one of latency between the first eNodeB and a first MME and the location of the first eNodeB. A second relative capacity may be determined for a second eNodeB based on at least one of latency between the second eNodeB and the first MME and the location of the second eNodeB. The first and second relative capacities may be indicative of relative capacity values greater than zero. The relative capacities may be provided to the first and second eNodeBs, and a portion of traffic sent from the first and second eNodeBs to the first MME may be based on the first and second relative capacities, respectively.

  • Patent number: 10536326
Abstract: Method of and systems for network redundancy and failure detection are disclosed. A method of assigning runtime states to nodes in a network includes transmitting initial route metric values associated with IP addresses of mobile network nodes to a router system, the relative magnitudes of the metric values being based on primary or secondary node status and active or standby runtime states. The method also includes transmitting packet(s) from one or more mobile network nodes to the router system destined for a server and one or more mobile network nodes receiving a response to the packet transmission via the router system from the server. In response to receiving the response to the transmissions, the one or more mobile network nodes setting subsequent route metric values having a reversed relative magnitude relationship to that of the initial route metric values.

  • Patent number: 10321360
Abstract: Systems and methods related to the confinement, or “pinning,” of packet processing for a given wireless subscriber to a single “packet handler” core, to improve throughput in a telecommunication system and reduce the probability and incidence of cache misses. Packet header data can include a subscriber's tunnel endpoint identifier (“TED”) and/or a session identifier. A load balancer core can use one or both identifiers to select a packet handler core through which the packet's bidirectional traffic will be directed. A hashing algorithm can be used to distribute multiple UEs to each of multiple packet handler cores. Other embodiments relate to differentiating between system-initiated proxy traffic and downstream UE traffic using a partitioned multiprotocol label switching (“MPLS”) label space. For example, the MPLS label space can be split into a UE Pool Address Domain and a Proxy Loopback Address Domain.

  • Patent number: 10165310
Abstract: Systems and methods of transcoding video sequences for delivery in a mobile network. A source video sequence including source video frames is received and a source video frame type associated with each of the source video frames is determined based on a differential between a composition time stamp (CTS) and a decoding time stamp (DTS) associated with each of the source video frames. A frame type ratio value for the target frame-types is calculated based on a longest mini-GOP length. A target frame size of each target video frame is determined based on the frame type ratio value and a target transcoding rate, and each of the target video frames in a target video track is encoded to the target frame size to form a target video sequence.

  • Patent number: 10129769
Abstract: Systems and methods for adaptively adjusting a transaction rate at a mobile network node. A first mobile network client node receives configuration parameters including an initial transaction rate, a step up rate, a step down rate, a minimum rate, a maximum rate, an evaluation time period, a step up response time threshold, a step down response time threshold, a step up threshold percentage of responses, and a step down threshold percentage of responses. Responses associated with communications with the server node are received during a first time period associated with the evaluation time period. A percentage of the received responses being less than the step up response time threshold and a percentage of the received responses being greater than the step down response time threshold are determined. An initial transaction rate is increased by the step up rate or decreased by the step down rate based on the determined percentages.

  • Patent number: 10129355
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for adaptively transcoding media in a communications network such that computer processing resources are effectively utilized to deal with varying traffic patterns in the communications network. A computing device receives a request to transcode content and determines a first amount of tokens based on a number of CPU cores associated with the computing device, and a currently used amount of tokens. The computing device determines a second amount of tokens associated with transcoding the content and when the first amount of tokens is less than the second amount of tokens, the computing device bypasses transcoding for the content or adjusts a transcoding parameter to reduce a number of tokens associated with transcoding the content.
