Patent number: 12006310Abstract: The present invention relates to the technical field of natural medicines, and in particular to a triterpenoid compound with an effect of improving glucose and lipid metabolism disorders, and preparation and application thereof. A novel triterpenoid compound was obtained by separation from Momordica charantia L. for the first time in the present invention. Studies on a mouse primary hepatocyte model and a 3T3-L1 preadipocyte model show that the novel triterpenoid compound in the present invention has activity of regulating glucose and lipid metabolism, and after combination with known triterpenoid compound Momordicoside G, the activity of regulating glucose and lipid metabolism is significantly higher than that of a single compound at the same dose, indicating that the novel triterpenoid compound and a complex thereof in the present invention can be used to improve glucose and lipid metabolism disorders and provide a new way for diabetes treatment.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2022Date of Patent: June 11, 2024Assignee: SERICULTURAL & AGRI-FOOD RESEARCH INSTITUTE GUANGDONG ACADEMY OF AGRICULTERAL SCIENCESInventors: Mingwei Zhang, Yuanyuan Deng, Guang Liu, Yan Zhang, Zhencheng Wei, Pengfei Zhou, Ping Li, Zhihao Zhao, Xuchao Jia, Xiaojun Tang

Publication number: 20230200364Abstract: The present disclosure provides a warm water immersion-based hatching method of silkworm eggs, belonging to the technical field of sericulture production. In the present disclosure, a warm water treatment is conducted on silkworm eggs of a bivoltine silkworm variety in production, and a water temperature and an immersion time are optimized to ensure a higher hatching rate. The silkworm eggs are subjected to the warm water immersion at 48° C. to 51° C. for 15 s to 23 s to rapidly hatch the silkworm eggs without diapause. The method has a practical hatching rate reaching not less than 98%, with no adverse effect on a quality of silkworm cocoons, thereby achieving a same hatching effect as a hydrochloric acid hatching method but a low cost, simple operation, no need of hydrochloric acid, and green with no adverse effect on human beings and environment.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2022Publication date: June 29, 2023Applicant: Sericulture and Agri-Food Research Institute, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural SciencesInventors: Dongxu Xing, Qiong Yang, Sentai Liao, Yang Xiao, Qingrong Li

Patent number: 10883079Abstract: Microparticles include a matrix of an encapsulating material, in which are dispersed particles of a low melting point fat and a bioactive material, such as one or more probiotic bacteria. The microparticles are formed by preparing an emulsion of melted low melting point fat in an aqueous mixture of the encapsulating material, cooling the emulsion below the melting point of the low melting point fat, dispersing the bioactive material in the emulsion and spray drying the emulsion. The particles of solid low melting point fat are believed to protect the bioactive material from heat damage during the spray drying process.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2016Date of Patent: January 5, 2021Assignee: HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN IN RIGHT OF CANADA, AS REPRESENTED BY THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOODInventors: Qi Wang, Huan Liu, Jianhua Gong, Hai Yu, Qian Guo, Shea Miller, Wuwei Cui

Patent number: 10334869Abstract: Methods for increasing the levels of avenanthramides in oats through false malting is disclosed. Oats are first subject to induction or enhancement of a secondary dormancy, and then malted for up to 5 days at an elevated temperature. The malted but not germinated oats are then dried and used as is, or further processed or milled to produce food, feed, nutraceutical or personal care products and ingredients. Methods are also provided for rendering non-dormant oats dormant and thus suitable for false malting.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2010Date of Patent: July 2, 2019Assignee: HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN IN RIGHT OF CANADA, AS REPRESENTED BY THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOODInventors: Frank William Collins, Vernon Douglas Burrows
