  • Patent number: 5013243
Abstract: A denture attachment including a magnet body, to be embedded in a denture base, comprises a pair of soft magnetic alloy end plates, a non-magnetic alloy spacer disposed between the end plates, and a cap covering the magnet body, the end plates and the spacer except on the side of a coping. The attachment causes a magnetic attractive force of the magnet body to act on the coping of a soft magnetic alloy embedded in a pulp cavity of a tooth deprived of the crown, whereby the denture base is stabilized on gingiva. The magnet body is disposed with its N and S poles facing the end plates, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4985092
Abstract: A steel having good wear resistance which contains 0.55-1.10% of C, up to 2.0% of Si, up to 2.0% of Mn, 12.0-25.0% of Cr and particularly suitable as a material for piston rings or rocker arms. Further addition of 0.05-1.10% of Al to the above steel gives a steel improved in properties for spheroidization of carbides and uniformization of carbide particle size, leading to further enhancement of wear resistance. If required 0.20-2.0% of Ni may be added to the steels, whereby corrosion resistance, toughness and hardenability are improved. An addition of at least one of 0.2-3.0% of Mo, 0.1-1.5% of V and 0.05-0.70% of Nb to the steels improves high-temperature strength and surface hardness. The steel is surface treated by gas nitriding of the like in a surface area for sliding contact with an opponent member.

  • Patent number: 4248072
Abstract: A method of producing a plate material having a uniform width and a lengthwise thickness variation by imparting plastic deformations to a work by means of widthwise rolling rolls and thicknesswise rolling rolls. The method has the steps of measuring the travelling amounts of the work at the outlet sides of the widthwise rolling rolls and the thicknesswise rolling rolls, continuously changing the roll gap of the widthwise rolling rolls in accordance with the measured travelling amount and a predetermined condition so as to reduce the width of the work at portions of the latter where the width is expected to be increased as a result of the subsequent thicknesswise rolling so that the work after the thicknesswise rolling may have a uniform width, and changing the thickness of the work by continuously changing the roll gap in the thicknesswise rolling rolls in accordance with the measured travelling amount and a predetermined condition. Also, disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out this method.

  • Patent number: 4071958
Abstract: The present invention discloses a device for automatically inspecting the acceptability of the inner diameter and bending of pipes of the type in which a cylindrical gage is inserted and forced to pass through the pipe to be inspected under the driving force of, for instance, compressed air. The pipe through which the gage passes from one end thereof to the other end is accepted, but the pipe in which the gage is stopped is rejected together with the gage. A pipe to be inspected is located by positioning first and/or second pipe positioning means into a predetermined pipe inspection position, and then firmly clamped by pipe clamping means. A cylindrical gage with a predetermined outer diameter and length is brought to the firing position by gage positioning means, inserted into one end of the pipe and forced to pass through the pipe under the compressed force admitted into the pipe behind the gage through gage firing means.
