Abstract: A spreader mechanism having a rear operating position for spreading the material discharged from the truck body at the rear end of the truck body and a forward storage position clear of the rear end of the truck body. According to the invention, the spreader support has at least one longitudinally extending leg support mounted on the truck frame for longitudinal movement of the spreader between the rearward operating position and a forward storage position forward of the tailgate of the truck body.

Abstract: A dump truck having a dump body with a central longitudinally extending conveyor and elongated internal panels moveable between upright storage positions next to the opposed parallel side walls of the truck body and inclined hopper positions extending downwardly and laterally inwardly between the side walls and the bottom of the dump body and toward the central conveyor. An external, longitudinally extending handle bar on each side of the dump body, is connected to the respective panel by a bank of longitudinally spaced, laterally extending, connecting rods for moving the panel between its storage and hopper positions. With the panels in their storage positions, the handle bars and connecting rods are pivotal upwardly together to upright storage positions against the outside of the dump body.

A hydraulic drive system is selectively operable for running the conveyor in each direction for dispensing the material contents of the dump body at the front and rear ends of the dump body. Front and rear spreaders are mounted on the truck frame at the front and rear ends of the conveyor for spreading the dispensed material onto the roadway in front: of and rearwardly of the rear wheels of the truck.

Abstract: A dump truck having an endless-conveyor structurally integrated into the bottom of the dump body, a conveyor hood opening in the tailgate of the dump body in longitudinal alignment with the conveyor and a conveyor hood mounted within the conveyor hood opening for being shifted between a forward extended position thereof covering the rear end of the conveyor and a rearward retracted position thereof generally flush with the inner face of the tailgate to facilitate use of the truck for open truck hauling with the tailgate in a flat open position extending rearwardly from the bottom of the dump body.
