Patents Assigned to Akab of Sweden AB
  • Patent number: 4926725
Abstract: A device for aligning and cutting a web having a thickness which varies in the longitudinal direction, e.g. a terry cloth with piled portions alternating with pile-free portions. The device comprises a pair of rulers extending across the web and which rulers are adjustable with respect to each other so that either the web can pass freely therebetween or only pile-free portions thereof, seizing- and transferring structure arranged in front of the rulers as seen in the feeding direction of the web and arranged to bring along a piece of cloth from the web and transfer this to a conveyor device and a pulling device for pulling out a desired length of the piece of cloth.

  • Patent number: 4915043
Abstract: A device for folding an edge of a fabric for making a single or a double hem. The device includes a pair of cooperating endless, driven bands for conveying the fabric edge through the device. One of the bands cooperates with a fixed rule and is twisted to correspond to the gradual folding of the fabric edge. The speed of one of the bands can be temporarily varied relative to the other so that the trailing edge of the hem is located somewhat inside of an edge of the fabric which extends transversely to the hem.

  • Patent number: 4648336
Abstract: A device for folding at least one edge of a fabric for making a single or a double hem, said fabric edge being passed through shaping means contained in the device. The object of the invention is to provide a folding device, which within a relatively large area with respect to the most common fabrics, is insensitive to variations in thickness of the fabric, whether several fabric edges are to be folded simultaneously or whether transverse seem with considerable thickness occur. This object has been solved by the fact that the shaping means comprises portions of at least one endless, driven band, which is twisted in correspondance with the gradual folding of the fabric edge during the transport thereof through the device and said band being arranged to cooperate with at least one fixed rule arranged in direct connection with at least a part of the band portions.

  • Patent number: 4586411
Abstract: A device for manufacture of pieces of cloth cut from a web e.g. a mesh tissue web or the like in the direction of the threads, and having the cut edges trimmed e.g. hemmed, and of the type where the web prior to the cutting is straigthened in pile-free positions by means of a straightening device. The object of the present invention is to provide a device with which a straightening, cutting and then a trimming of the cut edges are effected on a simple way, without the piece of cloth thereby having any possibility of becoming deformed. Another object of the invention is to provide a compact device which does not demand larger place than the known straightening devices. Furthermore according to the invention it shall also be possible to treat web which are equipped with longitudinal side seams with the device.

  • Patent number: 4506613
Abstract: A hemmer intended for making double-folded hems by feeding a fabric edge through the device comprising at least a folding edge, a main bar and a folding rule arranged at a distance above the main bar. The main bar front end being bevelled and designed to fold the fabric edge around the folding rule with the hem edge located between the main bar and the folding bar and in its second, rear part the main bar being designed with an upfolded, longitudinal edge section which partly is arranged to extend along and over the rear longitudinal edge of the folding bar and partly is bevelled at its front section. The hemmer in one embodiment may be adjusted to fold hems of different widths and hems which already have transverse hems.

  • Patent number: 4491079
Abstract: A device for mechanically producing folded hems on the end edges of a piece of cloth detached from a length of fabric, and comprising(a) means for folding the forward end edge of the fabric, corresponding to the folded-in part of the hem to be, over the edge of a delivery member,(b) a gripper arranged on a coiler plate, which is advanced to the delivery edge to grip the fold of the fabric thus that the folded-in part is pressed to contact against the fabric,(c) means for rotating the coiler plate and the fabric fixed therto substantially half a turn, thus that at least a part of the width of the hem to be, is located on a second conveyor track for feeding the piece of cloth to a sewing machine,(d) a holding device pressing the hem against the second conveyor track, while the coiler plate is pulled out of the hem, and(e) an arresting device pressing an inner portion of the fabric against a first track and the delivery member a piece of cloth is detached, each one of the end edges of said piece of cloth which a
