  • Patent number: 6418646
Abstract: The present invention relates to a machine for digging into the lower layers of the ground, wherein said machine comprises the following members: a base frame (1), a ground excavator (2) and a driving chain-type working organ (3) that is suspended from the frame (1) by a device (4) so as to be capable of forced rotation about two geometrical axes (17, 18). During operation of the machine, the axis (17) is perpendicular to the support surface (5) of the drive section (6) of the frame (1), while the axis (18 ) is parallel to the longitudinal axis (a—a) of said drive section (6). During operation, the rotation of the working organ (3) about the two axes (17, 18) makes it possible to dig excavations with a bottom that is horizontal or has a predetermined lateral inclination while maintaining an important width, to form sloped excavations or to dig excavations having various profiles.

  • Patent number: 6154988
Abstract: The present invention is for a machine for digging under pipes, wherein the machine comprises a frame having a caterpillar drive traction device mounted thereon, as well as left and right end effectors. The end effectors are each made in the shape of a mount which is attached to the frame and capable of forced rotation about the vertical axis. These end effectors also comprise a cylindrical endless-screw-type driving cutters as well as a cylindrical blade attached to the mount coaxially behind the cutter. The cutter is mounted at a lower end and on the side of the mount so that its rotation axis is horizontal. The machine further includes a transversal stabilization device comprising two stabilization mechanisms, wherein each mechanism comprises an adjustable-height support member that rests on the bottom of the trench. The traction device includes a frame as well as a caterpillar that comprises rigid brackets and flexible support members.

  • Patent number: 5643457
Abstract: A method for water recovery from the atmosphere of a habitable pressurized module laden with water vapors released by the inhabitants of said pressurized module, comprising the steps of condensing vapor to produce a gas-liquid mixture, filtering said mixture, carrying out catalytic oxidation of undissociating organic compounds contained in the gas-liquid mixture into dissociating ones by means of a metal-carbon catalyst containing at least one metal of the platinum group, separating condensate from said mixture, sorption-purification of condensate by passing it through activated carbon and ionites followed by disinfection, mineralization and preservation of purified condensate. The system for realization of said method comprises a successively arranged means for condensation of water vapors, a filter, a catalytic oxidation reaction vessel, a condensate separation unit, a sorption purification unit and a water conditioning unit.

  • Patent number: 5558695
Abstract: A process of continuous metal refinement comprising feeding molten metal to a reaction chamber, introducing gaseous and solid oxidants, adding bulk materials, fully converting the metal and slag into a foamy emulsion, creating, in the reaction chamber, an increased pulsating pressure and a considerable deviation of a system from thermodynamic equilibrium by way of creating a self-organizing system of chemical reaction with gas evolution and taking off the emulsion into a refining sump at the critical speed of egress of two-phase liquid, separating the metal and slag in said refining sump and withdrawing the gas through a high layer of emulsion at a definite rate.

  • Patent number: 5426441
Abstract: A planar slot antenna grid contains a number of waveguide-slot radiators having wide reverse side and wide outer side faces in which there are obtained, respectively, exciting slots of coupling and radiating slots. The faces lie correspondingly in two parallel planes, and a waveguide-feeder network is formed by waveguide distributors of power and feeding waveguides. Channels of the waveguides communicate with the exciting slots of coupling. The waveguide-slot radiators represent strip-line waveguides including a common dielectric substrate. The reverse side of the substrate is covered by a metallized coating serving as a common wide reverse side face of the waveguide-slot radiators. Each wide outer side face of the radiators represents a strip-line made of alternating narrow and wide segments formed on the outer side face of the dielectric substrate.
