Publication number: 20160294660Abstract: Various methods and devices are provided to address the need for improved backhaul monitoring capabilities. In a first method, a network node determines whether an operational setting indicates that a traffic monitoring mode is enabled. When the traffic monitoring mode is enabled, the network node sends GTP-U packets, each GTP-U packet including a GTP-U header with an S bit set to 1 and a corresponding sequence number in a sequence number field. In a second method, a network node receives such GTP-U packets and utilizes the corresponding sequence numbers of the received GTP-U packets to provide performance measurement counts of missed GTP-U packets.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2015Publication date: October 6, 2016Applicants: Alcatel-Lucent USA Inc., Alcatel-Lucent Telecom LtdInventors: Omar H. Publication number: 20130304956Abstract: In one embodiment, the method for registering to a wireless network includes transmitting a registration request from a device designated as having a low access priority. The registration request includes a value indicating that the device supports multiple access priorities. The multiple access priorities include the low access priority and at least one higher access priority. The method further includes requesting access when connecting to the wireless network based on a response to the registration request.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2012Publication date: November 14, 2013Applicants: ALCATEL-LUCENT TELECOM LTD., ALCATEL-LUCENT USA INC.Inventors: Deborah Barclay, Alessio Casati

Publication number: 20130242750Abstract: In one embodiment, the method of configuring a common search space (CSS) for at least one user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system with at least a first type of physical downlink control channel includes broadcasting at least one parameter of a common search space (CSS), none of the parameters being the number of orthogonal frequency-division multiplex (OFDM) symbols. In one embodiment, a method of configuring a default user equipment-specific search space (USS) for a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system with at least a first type of physical downlink control channel includes broadcasting at least one parameter of the default USS, none of the parameters being based on an identifier of the UE. The broadcasting may occur before UE-specific signaling. In one embodiment, a method of configuring or reconfiguring the USS may include transmitting at least one parameter of the USS with UE-specific signaling.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2012Publication date: September 19, 2013Applicants: ALCATEL-LUCENT TELECOM LTD., ALCATEL-LUCENT USA INC.Inventors: Matthew Baker, Fang-Chen Cheng, Sigen Ye

Publication number: 20130023301Abstract: In one embodiment, the method includes establishing, at a first base station, at least one interface with a second base station. The first and second base stations are associated with different network technologies, and at least one of the first and second base stations is a small cell base station. A small cell base station has a coverage area smaller than and at least partially overlapped by a coverage area of a macro base station. The method further includes one of (i) sending information from the first base station to the second base station over the interface, and (ii) receiving information at the first base station from the second base station over the interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 21, 2011Publication date: January 24, 2013Applicants: ALCATEL-LUCENT TELECOM LTD., ALCATEL-LUCENT USA INC.Inventors: Zhibi Wang, Ruth Gayde, Mark Skeates, John MacNamara, Philip Sapiano
