Patents Assigned to Alcatel STK A/S
  • Patent number: 5362921
Abstract: A flexible subsea line includes a number of longitudinal elements including fluid/gas conducting tubes enclosed within a common outer cover. A number of the tubes are made of steel and each of these steel tubes is in longitudinal electrical contact with at least two sacrificial anodes.

  • Patent number: 5280529
Abstract: A secure communications network having different types of subscriber terminals (1-4) and switching modules (7-8) connected to other switching modules in the network includes cryptographic devices (13-15) where at least one of the cryptographic devices is a cryptographic-pool device having a number of cryptographic modules (35) wherein the cryptographic-pool device is physically separated from the switching modules (7,8), and wherein at least one of the cryptographic-pool devices (13-18) is within a security guard (9 or 10) connected between a switching module (7 or 8) and the network. A security guard may include routing devices (32,31) or handling control signals that specify protection criteria. A managing device (30) may also be included within a security guard for deciding the manner for carrying a communication channel through the security guard and for setting out rules for governing security-guard decision-making. The managing device may be selectively controlled both on-line and off-line.

  • Patent number: 5234515
Abstract: Interconnecting two insulation sheathed conductors in subsea environments is done using a subsea connector including a metal conductor splice pin arrangement and a splice insulation sleeve. A metal tube is placed over the splice insulation sleeve. The conductor insulation sheaths are molded to respective opposite sides of the metal tube.

  • Patent number: 5206780
Abstract: The invention relates to high voltage surge arrestors which are installed in parallel with an electric apparatus to be protected from excessive high voltages, such as a high voltage power cable or a transformer. The arrestor consists of one or more annular bodies (9,19,32), through the hollow of which a high voltage conductor (3,31) is terminated. The arrestor may also be used with penetrators and transformer bushings.

  • Patent number: 5115466
Abstract: This invention relates to a communication network intended for secure transmission of speech and data, including different types of subscriber terminals (10-15) and switching modules (4-6), and where the network further comprise crypto devices to undertake encryption/decryption of information transmitted through the network. At least one of the crypto devices is constituted by a crypto-pool device (7,8,9) having a number of crypto modules (CM) physically separated from the switching modules (4,5,6). Each crypto-pool (7,8,9; 20) is provided with a managing device (MA, 26) for communicating with a ciphering key distribution authority through standardized communication protocols and distribute keys to the relevant CM through a control path (25) of the crypto-pool. Each crypto-pool has access to an authentication server (AS, 16; 41,43) providing a directory of security certificates necessary in the authentication process when initiating a network connection.

  • Patent number: 5064350
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved reciprocating pump providing oil for low pressure, self-contained oil-filled cables. it is particularly important to have a gas tight system in such a pumping plant since the oil in the storage tank (6) has to be kept under vacuum at all times to keep the oil in a gas-free condition. The air or gas driven oil pump (8) has two piston rod seals (9,10). The area between the two seals is provided with an inlet (11) and outlet opening (12) through which oil can be flushed from the high pressure side of the pump (8) to the top of a storage tank (6).

  • Patent number: 4855536
Abstract: The invention relates to interruption of screens of power cables (1,2) with double stress cone systems (23,30). Such interruption systems have hitherto always been made at the same place as the cable core joints. However, with interruption systems at the location of the cable core joint, undesirable gas pockets can form at the interface between the joint insulation and the double stress cone system. In order to eliminate this problem, the interruption system is provided at a position remote from the cable core joint.
