Abstract: A stable dry microbiocidal composition is disclosed which consists of partially anhydrous alkaline salts of ethylene bis-dithiocarbamate and alkaline salts of dimethyldithiocarbamate. This dry composition has a temperature of combustibility over 170.degree. C. Methods for preparing the composition are also described.
Abstract: A copolymer composition prepared in a water-in-oil emulsion by polymerizing a monomer system comprising a surfactant monomer and a water soluble vinyl monomer.
Abstract: Very small amounts of certain metal ions promote copolymerization of aliphalic dicarboxylic acids with .alpha.,.beta.-ethylentically unsaturated monomers in an aqueous solution system maintained at a given pH range, whereby the amount of unreacted dicarboxylic acid monomer is significantly reduced while control of molecular weight of the resulting compolymers is maintained.
Abstract: Acrylic emulsion copolymers are prepared by emulsion polymerization of (A) a surfactant monomer, (B) an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, (C) a nonionic .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomer and (D) optionally a polyethylenically unsaturated cross-linking monomer. The surfactant monomer is prepared by condensing a mono or polyhydric alcohol nonionic surfactant with methylene succinic acid. At a low pH the copolymer may be in the form of an aqueous dispersion or latex, but thickens upon neutralization of at least some of the carboxyl groups.
