Abstract: A steering unit for a vehicle, notably a bus. The steering unit is coupled with a suspension system and comprises: a support formed by a passenger platform and a wheel housing, a longitudinal axis, a steering knuckle with an in-wheel engine defining a transversal rotation axis which is arranged transversally with respect to the longitudinal axis, an actuator mechanism adapted for pivoting the steering knuckle. The steering knuckle further comprises a lever which is linked to the actuator mechanism and which includes a transversal portion extending transversally along the in-wheel engine. The steering unit is adapted for an articulated bus with at least two bodies, said bodies each exhibits four or eight identical and independent steering units.

Abstract: An articulated electric bus includes two units with: a passenger compartment including a main floor forming a low and thin platform with a planar surface extending over the majority of the width of the passenger compartment, a wheel housing adjacent to the planar surface, a longitudinal row of seat places on the wheel housing, and a driving wheel which is housed in the wheel housing under the longitudinal row of seats. The driving wheel defines a rotation axis and includes an electric engine, and a rim with a rim top above the planar surface. The driving wheel is vertically movable with respect to the planar surface, and the wheel housing actually receives a pair or a couple of driving wheels.

Abstract: A bus structure, optionally an electric bus structure for one hundred passengers or more. The bus structure includes: a passenger compartment, a side wall with a vertical post and delimiting the passenger compartment, a horizontal support, a vertical handle—or stanchion—along the vertical post and projecting from the horizontal support, a strut projecting from the vertical post to the horizontal support, and a floor structure of reduced thickness. The strut defines a triangle with the wheel housing and the vertical post. The strut is straight or curved.
