Abstract: A retainer can couple at least two components together and includes a retainer body defining a body opening and at least one leg extending from the retainer body. The leg can bend relative to the retainer body between a first position and a second position upon application of an external force. The leg includes a connection portion coupled to the retainer body, a support portion coupled to the connection portion, and a bendable portion interconnecting the connection portion and the support portion. The bendable portion can bend such that the leg can move relative to the retainer body between the first and second positions. When the leg is in the first position, the support portion is obliquely angled relative to the retainer body. When the leg is in the second position, the support portion is substantially parallel to the retainer body.

Abstract: A retention clip assembly is for attachment to a stud. The assembly includes a base plate and a cover plate. The base plate includes a base rim and a locking finger extending from the base rim. The cover plate includes a cover rim and a flange. The cover rim defines a lock opening configured for receiving the locking finger therein to retain the cover plate to the base plate. The flange extends inwardly from the cover rim at an angle which is acute such that the flange overlays the cover opening and is configured for engaging the external teeth on the stud. The cover plate attached to the base plate with a sheet of material therebetween. The cover plate and base plate are positioned such that the flange engages the external teeth of the stud to prevent removal of the retention clip assembly from the stud.

Abstract: A device for securing a panel or the like to a mounting stud having external teeth includes an annular first body having an inner periphery and at least one lock finger extending from such inner periphery. An annular second body has a center opening, at least one lock opening spaced from the center opening for receiving the lock finger to lock the first and second bodies together, and at least one leg extending inwardly overlying the center opening for engaging the external teeth on the mounting stud. The second body is adapted for assembly to the first body with a panel or the like between the bodies such that the center opening can be mounted over the mounting stud with the at least one finger engaging the teeth on the mounting stud to prevent removal.

Abstract: A nut and retainer fastener assembly includes a one-piece retainer having a flat base with an opening and a plurality of retainer clips extending from the base around the opening. At least one flange nut is secured to the base between adjacent clips and offset from the opening in the base. The opening preferably is polygonal, most preferably rectangular (including square), and the clips preferably are disposed at corners of the opening. The clips preferably have integral spring fingers that extend from ends of the clips toward the base and at an angle away from the opening to capture the mounting wall between the base and the ends of the spring clips. The base preferably has an ear extending away from the opening, most preferably laterally opposed ears extending away from the opening, and a flange nut mounted on each of the ears for alignment with a fastener opening in the mounting wall when the nut and fastener assembly is secured to the wall.

The first wall portion of the retainer has a forward edge with laterally spaced tabs at opposed ends. The tabs extend toward the second wall portion and have flat ends spaced from the second wall portion of the retainer. A flange nut is mounted on the first wall portion of the retainer, and has a flange disposed within the first wall portion and spaced from the second wall portion.
