  • Patent number: 6701821
Abstract: A weapon turret (10) intended for a military vehicle and equipped with a medium-calibre automatic weapon (12) and a relatively heavy-calibre weapon (14), in which the two weapons are, firstly, mounted in a weapon holder fitted in the weapon turret such that they can be jointly pivoted about a common horizontal pivot axis (18) and, secondly, can be pivoted jointly with the turret about a vertical centre axis (20) of the same, the heavy-calibre weapon (14) being mounted next to and parallel with the automatic weapon (12) and close up to this. At least one ammunition magazine (48) in the weapon turret (10) is provided with at least one guide duct (44, 46) for guiding an ammunition belt from the magazine to the automatic weapon (12). The automatic weapon (12) is mounted in the weapon holder such that the longitudinal axis of the barrel (26) of the automatic weapon extends through the common horizontal pivot axis (18) and through the vertical centre axis (20) of the weapon turret.

  • Patent number: 6681678
Abstract: A revolving ammunition magazine for shells, which has an number of elongate, first ammunition holder elements (14) which are distributed uniformly in relation to one another around a center axis (12) and designed and positioned so as to be capable of holding at least two shells (G1, G2) lying essentially parallel to and at a different radial distance from the center axis (12), and second ammunition holder elements (14a, 14b, 16b, 18b) designed and arranged so as to be capable of holding at least one shell (G3) essentially parallel to the centre axis (12) and between the first ammunition holder elements (14) at the same radial distance from the center axis (12) as the radially outer shells (G1) in the first holder elements (14).

  • Patent number: 6662892
Abstract: An air intake for a motorized vehicle, for obtaining a low radar and IR signature of a ballistically protected air intake (10) of the vehicle. The air intake (10) has a perforated armour plate (12) lying level with an outer bodywork plate (14) of the vehicle, and a fresh-air duct (18) which adjoins the inside of the perforated armour plate (12) and which has a fan (20) for sucking the fresh air necessary for running the vehicle into the duct via air intake openings (16) in the armour plate. A wall section (22) of the fresh-air duct (18) situated between the air intake openings (16) and a heat-generating source (24) in the vehicle is air-cooled.

  • Patent number: 6606933
Abstract: Turret (12) fitted with automatic canon and intended for a combat unit, said turret (12) comprising a turret housing (14) which is intended to be mounted on the outside of the combat unit and can rotate about a substantially vertical axis, and in which turret housing (14) there is a weapon holder (16) for pivotably supporting a canon about a horizontal axis, which canon has a barrel (20) projecting from the turret housing (14) and a rear part (22) with associated loading mechanism (24) situated inside the housing (14). At least one ammunition magazine (26, 28) is arranged to the side of the rear part (22) of the canon and has an outlet (29, 31) for the ammunition belt situated in such a way that the latter can be conveyed from a rear part of the magazine and guided forwards along an underside (33) of the magazine and thereafter curved through ca. 90° about an axis substantially at right angles to the plane of the belt for feeding the projectiles to the loading mechanism (24).

  • Patent number: 6581718
Abstract: An arrangement for the steering and coupling together of two associated tracked units to form an articulated tracked vehicle set, includes a first upright for releasable coupling to a fixture on one of the tracked units, a second upright for coupling to a fixture on the other tracked unit, a first steering link which is connected in an articulated manner to the first upright about a first horizontal axis and a second steering link which is connected in an articulated manner to the second upright about a second horizontal axis, parallel with the first horizontal axis. The first and second steering links are mutually joined to a steering link unit about a steering pivot with a vertical axis of articulation. Hydraulic ram cylinder units are arranged so as to control relative turning movements between the first upright and the steering link unit, between the second upright and the steering link unit, and between the first and second steering links.
