Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for burning a waste gaseous stream having a residual heating value represented by a heat of combustion of from 50 to 900 BTU/SCF. to heat an intermediate heat transfer fluid, and to use the thus heated heat transfer fluid to heat diverse fluids in a plurality of serially arrayed heat exchangers at descending temperature levels.
Abstract: There is disclosed a heat recovery system for recovering the heat potential of a gaseous stream having a temperature of from 500.degree. to 2500.degree. F. utilizing a primary heat exchanger through which is passed a heat transfer salt mixture in indirect heat transfer relationship with the hot gaseous stream to recover the heat potential to use such primary heat transfer salt mixture in a plurality of serially arrayed heat exchangers as a heating medium for diverse fluids at descending temperature levels.
Abstract: There is disclosed a process and apparatus for the recovery of heat from exhaust or waste gases having a temperature of from about 500.degree. F. to about 2500.degree. F. generated in a process operation having at least two heat recovery assemblies, each utilizing like or different intermediate heat transfer mediums to recover heat at higher heat temperature levels.
Abstract: There is disclosed a process and apparatus for the cyclic heating and cooling of processing equipment with a pressurized heat transfer fluid, i.e., water, utilizing heat exchangers for the separate heating and cooling of the heat transfer fluid and including a storage vessel having at least two heat transfer zones wherein heat transfer fluid is stored in such vessel during initial phases of one cycle for use in a subsequent cycle whereby heat transfer fluid at an intermediate temperature level in one zone is passed through such processing equipment prior to the passage of heated or cooled heat transfer fluid through such processing equipment from one of such heat exchangers.
