  • Patent number: 4363016
Abstract: A circuit breaker with an electrical insulator slide interposable between two generally convex contacts thereof and a rocker button rotatably trap mounted on a protrusion extending from the inside wall of the case which interacts wtih pivot points at one end of the slide to translate the rocking motion of the button into a linear motion displacement of the slide. The slide includes generally parallel elongate spaced apart standoff protrusions adapted to maintain the operating electrical contact surface of the movable contact withdrawn from contact with the slide when in the tripped position and during a resetting of the circuit breaker. The slide also includes a contoured portion adapted to generally mate with curved portions of but be visually distinguishable from the rocker button to present a readily discernable indication that the circuit breaker is in the tripped condition.

  • Patent number: 4361533
Abstract: Two small diameter fiberglass tubes are rolled on silicone rubber slugs and inserted into a larger cylinder which is then pinched into a figure-8 shape. This is put in the curing mold. When heated the silicone rubber expands to push the fiberglass into contact with mold surfaces. After cooling the slugs can be pulled lengthwise, which reduces their diameter so they are self freeing from within the cured frame.

  • Patent number: 4361486
Abstract: A filter media is provided which comprises an amount of particulate immobilized in a substantially inert porous matrix. A least a portion of the particulate surface has thereon a divalent metal peroxide. The metal peroxide is magnesium peroxide or calcium peroxide, preferably magnesium peroxide. The filter media is preferably used for oxidizing and removing soluble iron and manganese from an aqueous fluid. The filter may also be used for removing and inactivating microorganisms from fluids, e.g. aqueous fluids. Particulate filter aid having coated or adsorbed on the surface the aforementioned metal peroxide may be used as the particulate in the filter media, as well as the metal peroxide in particulate form.

  • Patent number: 4347208
Abstract: A method is provided for making a filter cell comprised of two cellulosic fiber containing filter media having a sealed periphery. The method comprises compressing the peripheries of each filter media, to form a flange. The media are then aligned to provide intimate face-to-face contact between the flanges. A spacer means is provided between the media to cause each to dish outwardly from the other media. The two media and spacer means are then placed into a mold surrounding the flanges. The mold has a means for providing a recompression force to the inner portions of the flanges. A thermoplastic polymer is then injected into the mold to form a seal around the flanges. The recompression force is sufficient to maintain the flanges in intimate face-to-face contact with each other and to prevent seepage of the polymer between the flanges when the polymer is injected into the mold.
