  • Patent number: 9013192
Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring device for detecting absolution positions, comprising a sensor unit (N, M) as a planar coil structure and a scale having alternating areas of variable reluctance or conductivity along the measuring line. The invention is characterized in that the measuring device has at least two divisions (T1, T2) for determining the absolute position within the measuring length, the at least two divisions being coded aperiodically and in a bitwise manner and extending parallel to each other and, for each bit formation, having opposite effects on a coil element (S2, S3, S4) as part of the entire sensor structure. Preferably, each coil element (S2, S3, S4), comprising its own emitter and receiver windings (E, R), is balanced in offset, and the entire sensor structure provides approximately equal signal amplitudes for each individual bit of the absolute value at any position of the coded scale by means of compensation windings.

  • Patent number: 7797981
Abstract: A position-measuring device for detecting the relative position of two bodies capable of motion relative to each other includes a measurement standard with a scale division connected to one of the bodies and a scanning head (MK) connected to the other body for reading the scale division, wherein the scanning head is connected to an electronic evaluation unit. The electronic evaluation unit has a nonvolatile memory in which correction values for the measurement values recorded by the scanning head are stored, wherein the correction values are determined during a preceding calibration of the position-measuring device together with the use of at least one other scanning head to scan the same measurement standard.

  • Patent number: 6611138
Abstract: An inductive length measuring system which, by scanning a scale with a graduation of periodically variable reluctance and a coil system in a linear arrangement, can detect information relating to the position and/or the movement of the coil system with reference to the scale. The coil structure comprises a multi-ply arrangement of a combination of coils in the form of planar spiral windings or turns having a plurality of receiver pairs, each pair having two differentially connected receiver elements which can be interconnected for the purpose of signal generation for each of at least two measuring channels, and wherein at least one emitter element is provided which is inductively coupled to the receiver elements as a function of the relative position in the measuring direction relative to the measuring scale, thereby generating at least one output signal which is compensated for offset and/or sinusoidal shape and/or amplitude.
