Patent number: 7530740Abstract: A high strength plastic bag is formed from two sheets of polymeric material. The sheets are folded, machined, and heat sealed to form a receptacle portion, a flap for covering an opening to the receptacle portion and handles to facilitate handling of the bag when filled. At least one handle has three layers of polymeric material for improved strength. The bag includes a tamper-indicating closure and has a high friction coefficient to prevent sliding of stacked bags.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2005Date of Patent: May 12, 2009Assignee: Ampac Plastics LLCInventor: Thomas E. Patent number: 7275657Abstract: A container for individually dispensing plastic bags provided in a stack. The container is formed from a blank that is cut and formed with appropriate fold lines, such that when assembled, the container includes a bottom wall, spaced, opposing sidewalls, and spaced, opposing front and back walls. The bottom wall, sidewalls, and front and back walls define a receptacle for receiving a stack of bags. The container further includes an interior flap extending between the front and back walls. The flap is biased in a direction toward one of the front and back walls such that the flap engages the stack of bags and helps to maintain the stack in a desired orientation within the receptacle.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2003Date of Patent: October 2, 2007Assignee: Ampac Plastics LLCInventor: Thomas E. Publication number: 20050036716Abstract: A security bag has tamper indicating features that may be incorporated directly on the bag during manufacture, without requiring conventional tamper-indicating tapes. Release material is selectively applied to the bag in the form of a pattern or void message, prior to treatment of the bag to improve ink-retaining characteristics. After treatment, an ink layer is applied over the release material. An adhesive layer is applied to the bag in an area that will seal an opening of the bag and contact the ink layer at least when the bag is sealed. When the bag is reopened after initial sealing, portions of the ink layer applied over the release material will be retained with the adhesive, while the remainder of the ink layer will be retained on the treated surface of the bag.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2003Publication date: February 17, 2005Applicant: Ampac Plastics LLCInventor: Thomas Geyer

Publication number: 20030118252Abstract: A security bag having a side opening. The opening includes a leading edge with a tamper indicating adhesive strip. The bag further includes a flap portion which extends into the opening under the adhesive strip and leading edge. The bag is closed by adhering the adhesive strip to the flap. This provides a better seal which is less prone to inadvertent tamper indication.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2001Publication date: June 26, 2003Applicant: Ampac Plastics LLCInventor: Thomas E.
