Abstract: An assembly for installing an optical fiber cable which includes a fiber core assembly and a reinforcement yarn assembly surrounding the fiber core assembly. The assembly includes a leading unit having a yarn positioner for fixing a front part of the reinforcement yarn assembly, and a trailing unit including a front cap, a rear tube, and a middle tube that has front and rear threaded portions threadedly engage the front cap and the rear tube, respectively. The front cap has a threaded sleeve portion sleeving around the front threaded portion of the middle tube for clamping a rear part of the reinforcement yarn assembly against the middle tube, thereby fixing the rear part of the reinforcement yarn assembly.
Abstract: An optical fiber plug adapted to be connected to an optical fiber socket and a first optical fiber cable includes a plug sleeve unit, a plug unit, a plug guiding unit, and a coupling unit. The coupling unit includes a coupling seat, a coupling ring, and a coupling cover movable between a locked position and a released position. When the coupling cover is at the locked position, the optical fiber plug is locked to the optical fiber socket by the coupling ring. When the coupling cover is moved from the locked position to the released position, the coupling ring is urged resiliently by the coupling cover to release the optical fiber plug, thereby permitting separation of the optical fiber plug from the optical fiber socket.
Abstract: An optical fiber socket for being connected to an optical fiber plug and a first optical fiber cable includes a socket sleeve unit, a socket shell having a surrounding wall that defines a connecting hole for insertion of the first optical fiber cable thereinto and for being engaged with the optical fiber plug, a plurality of spaced-apart receiving holes that extend radially through the surrounding wall and that communicate with the connecting hole, and a plurality of locking members that are movably and respectively disposed in the receiving holes, and a socket guiding unit. When the optical fiber socket is connected to the optical fiber plug, the locking members are urged to move toward and clamp the optical fiber plug.
Abstract: Adaptors for providing a connection between fiber-optic cables may be configured to be interlocked in both side-by-side and top-to-bottom orientations with adjacent adaptors to eliminate wasted spaced between adjacent rows and/or columns of adaptors in a junction panel.
