Patents Assigned to Andrews MacLaren Limited
  • Patent number: 4648651
Abstract: A collapsible, stick-folding, lie-back push-chair including seat support members having back rest members and armrest members, the inclination of the back rest members being controlled by connector members slidable along armrest members and having locking means in the form of a spring loaded pin for engagement with a hole in the armrest members. In the fully reclined position, the back rest members, and thus the seat, lie substantially parallel with the ground, at an angle of 165.degree.-170.degree. to the horizontal.

  • Patent number: 4618184
Abstract: Wire links (41) respectively pivoted at the junctions between the two back members (12) and the two upper brace members (14) of a collapsable lie-back push chair are formed, at their lower ends, with hooks 42 which are permanently connected to the seat back and releasably engagable with the two back members (12) and with the two upper brace members (14). To move the seat back between upright and lie-back positions it is merely necessary to release the hooks 42 from the supporting member and to swing the links 41 until the hooks 42 are engaged in the other of the support members.

  • Patent number: 4544178
Abstract: Two side frames support a seat assembly (25, 31 and 32) for a baby. Each side frame has first and second legs (1 and 2) pivotally connected at adjacent first ends (3 and 4) and a handle shaft (11). When the push chair is erected, with the second ends (5 and 6) of the legs (1 and 2) of each side frame spaced apart, the handle shaft (11) of each side frame is movable between first and second positions in which a handle bar (34) transversely interconnecting the handle shafts (11) is respectively behind the seat assembly (25, 31 and 32), for pushing the baby forwards, and in front of the seat assembly (25, 31 and 32), for pushing the baby backwards. The second leg (2) and the handle shaft (11) of each side frame are also connected by drive means (16 and 17) so that further movement of the handle shaft (11) from its second position to a third position laterally adjacent the first leg (1) is accompanied by corresponding movement of the second leg (2) towards a position laterally adjacent the first leg (1).

  • Patent number: 4304017
Abstract: A first X-frame (10) comprising first and second pivotally connected elongate members (4 and 5) is pivotally connected to a second X-frame (33) comprising third and fourth pivotally connected elongate members (27 and 28) by means of cross-braces (21, 22, 46 and 47) so that sleeves (11, 12, 36 and 37) pivotally connected to the first ends (6, 8, 29 and 31) of the elongate members (4, 5, 27 and 28) are slidably movable along pivotally interconnected support arms (13, 14, 38 and 39). As the X-frames (10 and 33) move towards each other, the elongate members (4, 5, 27 and 28), the support arms (13, 14, 38 and 39), and the cross-braces (21, 22, 46 and 47) align themselves substantially parallel to each other, the hems of a container (55) of pliable material, which receive the support arms (13, 14, 38 and 39) are gathered together and the container (55) is compressed within the bundle of substantially parallel members.

  • Patent number: 4289326
Abstract: First and second legs (4 and 5) of a collapsible tripod (1) are pivoted to a third leg (6) and interconnected by two interpivoted bracing links (15 and 16).To swing the first and second legs (4 and 5) towards and away from the third leg (6), first and second tie members (24 and 25) extend, respectively, from the first and second legs (4 and 5) to an actuating member (18) which is movable longitudinally of the third leg (6).To prevent relative movement between the legs (4, 5 and 6), when the tripod (1) is in its extended condition, a control link (32) extends from the pivotal interconnection between the two bracing links (15 and 16) and the actuating member (18) and locking means (21) are provided for releasably locking the actuating means (18) to the third leg (6).
