  • Patent number: 5323544
Abstract: A technique is disclosed for drying and curing a liquid film applied to a former which is reactive to radio frequency energy so as to generate heat. A liquid film, such as latex, is applied to a metallic former which is then disposed in the proximity of an applicator which propagates radio frequency energy. In response, by a process of induction the former generates heat and thereby advantageously dries said film in an inside-to-outside manner. A superior product is produced which is substantially free of defects and blemishes.

  • Patent number: 5097697
Abstract: An automated condom airburst testing apparatus is disclosed which utilizes a deformable elastomeric ring which operates, in conjunction with a collar, to form a temporary, yet secure, airtight seal around the flexible condom membrane. A multiple stage series regulated inflation gas supply system provides a substantially fluctuation-free flow of gas to inflate a condom. A differential pressure measuring system, which is separate from the inflation supply system, determines the difference between the pressure within the condom membrane and atmosphere. The apparatus also provides the maximum pressure and volume within the condom just before the condom is destroyed by bursting.

  • Patent number: 4795425
Abstract: A spermicidal contraceptive sheath and method of manufacture are disclosed. The sheath has a first spermicide-containing semi-solid inside the sheath at the closed end thereof. A spermicide-containing lubricant is provided at least on the outside surface of the sheath. A dose of spermicide is automatically provided both on the outside of the sheath and on the inside. If the sheath ruptures, a double dosage of spermicide is available to provide an extra measure of contraceptive effectiveness.
