Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing and containing a blade from a round scalpel handle comprising a sharps container having a wall portion that defines one side of a containment volume; a slot of a first type having a length and width dimensioned to receive a blade mounted around scalpel handle and prevent its rotation, the slot of the first type formed through the wall portion of the sharps container which slot allows rotation of the handle so the blade becomes disengaged from the handle and disposed in the containment volume.
Abstract: Provided among other things is a protective garment having one or more of: (a) an outer layer of a material that is self-extinguishing, and which is fluoro rubber, polyvinyl chloride, chlorosulfphonated polyethylene, chlorinated polyethylene, chloroprene rubber, or a mixture thereof, or (b) an inner layer of a barrier laminate, wherein an outer surface of the outer layer or an inner surface of the inner layer is modified with a hydrophobic chemical.
Abstract: Polymeric articles, such as condoms or gloves, including a decoration, are disclosed. The polymeric article comprises at least two polymeric layers, and a decoration comprising at least one of a polymeric film, a decal or a temporary tattoo is disposed between the at least two polymeric layers. Methods for manufacturing polymeric articles including a decoration are also disclosed.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include knitted gloves having a cut-resistant yarn in at least one knitted zone of a glove and further including one or more yarns knitted into other knitted zones of the glove in which at least one zone has vertically knitted courses.
Abstract: A highly flexible, flame-resistant, multi-layer glove, including a knitted, flame-resistant inner liner, a moisture barrier layer, a heat-activated glove-shaped web-adhesive disposed between the inner liner and moisture barrier layer, and a flame-resistant shell disposed over the moisture barrier layer, and methods for manufacturing, are disclosed.
Abstract: Condoms, condom formers, and methods for forming condoms are disclosed. A condom includes an open end, a closed end, a tubular sheath extending from the open end to the closed end, a tip portion adapted to cover a glans of a penis, disposed adjacent to the closed end, and a plurality of raised features disposed on the tubular sheath, having a top surface area and a base surface area, wherein the total raised top surface area is greater than the total base surface area of the condom.
Abstract: A thin flexible glove that includes a fabric support liner, crush-resistant fingertips, and an elastomeric or polymeric shell disposed thereon and manufacturing methods for making the glove.
Abstract: A hypodermic needle recapper, comprising a substantially planar substrate formed of a given material and having a given thickness which, in combination, cause the substrate to be substantially impervious to penetration of a hypodermic needle. The substrate defining an opening having a flexible perimeter adapted to admit a hypodermic needle cap therein and having a plurality of flexible flaps formed about a periphery of the opening so as to provide the flexibility to the perimeter of the opening. Each flap has a thickness that is less than the given thickness of the substrate.

Abstract: A coated glove and method of making the same is provided. The invention proposes a knitted liner glove which is dyed after the knitted portion is dipped into a rubber polymer. Further, the method for making the glove includes knitting a liner of the glove, dipping the knitted liner into a rubber polymer to cover a portion thereof, and then dyeing the knitted polymer coated liner.
Abstract: A glove having a glove liner adorned with at least one injection-molded component that provides the glove with specific characteristics tailored to a specific glove application. The liner may comprise a fabric and/or an elastomeric material. The position, composition, and/or contour of the injection-molded components define the characteristics of the glove.
