    Abstract: There is disclosed a body contacting article, eg. a surgeon's glove which comprises a first layer of a natural or synthetic elastomer and thereupon a layer of polymer comprising repeating units of the formula:[--CH.sub.2 --CH(OR)--] and [--CH(CO.sub.2 H)--CH(CO.sub.2 R.sup.1)--](I)[--CH.sub.2 --CH(R.sup.4)--] and [--CH(CO.sub.2 H)--CH(CO.sub.2 R.sup.1)--](IA)wherein R is a lower alkyl group and R.sup.1 is a lower alkyl group or a (lower) alkoxy (low) alkyl group, and R.sup.4 is hydrogen or a phenyl group.
