    Abstract: The present disclosure reduces sound generated when a driving mode of a drum washing machine having a rotating body on a rear part of a drum is switched between a first mode and a second mode. The first mode is a driving mode in which the drum and the rotating body independently rotate, and the second mode is a driving mode in which the drum and the rotating body integrally rotate. A bearing-side cushioning member is arranged on a clutch carrying plate side. The bearing-side cushioning member firstly touches an object side when a spline of a clutch body is engaged with a spline of the clutch carrying plate, so as to reduce an impact force generated between the clutch body and the clutch carrying plate.

The washing machine includes: a washing drum; a stirring component; a motor; and a microcomputer for controlling water supply and drainage for the washing drum or controlling a voltage applied to the motor to rotate the stirring component. During a washing process, the microcomputer obtains an index which indicates a size of resistance generated by the washings in the washing drum to rotation of the stirring component. When the index exceeds a specified threshold since the resistance in the washing process is less than a specified resistance, the microcomputer judges that the washings in the washing drum are in a state unsuitable for the dewatering process.
