  • Patent number: 10087646
Abstract: A filter for a self-propelled robotic pool cleaner includes a first chamber, a second chamber and a partition wall separating the first and second chambers to define first and second filter enclosures. A non-return device is placed in correspondence with the partition wall. The filter and non-return device are configured to receive a first flow of water and debris from the swimming pool into the first chamber so the debris is retained in the first chamber and filtered water is discharged into the swimming pool during a first cleaner operation mode, and receive a second flow of water from the swimming pool to displace the debris in the first chamber to the second chamber during a second cleaner operation mode. The non-return device is arranged such that the displaced debris cannot return from the second enclosure to the first enclosure when the cleaner is operating in the first operation mode.

  • Patent number: 9506262
Abstract: A swimming pool cleaner comprising a housing (1, 2), drive means (4, 41), a water inlet (11), a water outlet (12), a filter (20) and a pump (3), arranged so that, in a first operation mode of the swimming pool cleaner, the pump (3) displaces water from said inlet (11) to said outlet (12) through said filter (20), so that debris entering with the water is retained in a first part of said filter (20). A dirt sensor (6) is provided to trigger switching between at least two cleaning programs.

  • Patent number: 7661381
Abstract: A vehicle includes a submersible housing and a propulsion mechanism, which is coupled to drive the housing over an interior surface of a container in which the housing is submerged. A hollow tube is fixed to the housing and is configured to be filled with a fluid having a first specific gravity. One or more objects, which have a second specific gravity that is less than the first specific gravity, are contained within and capable of moving inside the hollow tube so as to stabilize the housing in response to changes of an angle of the interior surface over which the vehicle travels.

  • Publication number: 20080099409
Abstract: Cleaning apparatus includes a housing, which includes a lower side comprising an opening, and an upper side including an egress port and a lid, which opens to provide access to an interior of the housing. An impeller is disposed within the housing so as to draw water into the housing through the opening and to expel the water through the egress port. A filter assembly is contained within the housing and is of a size and shape suitable for removal from the housing via the lid. The filter assembly includes separable upper and lower segments having a wall that includes a filter material. The lower segment has an ingress port that communicates with the ingress port so that the water drawn in through the opening enters the filter assembly through the ingress port and exits the filter assembly through the filter material.
