One method includes managing buyer company profiles of a plurality of buyer organizations and seller company profiles of a plurality of seller organizations, wherein the buyer company profiles and the seller company profiles are shared amongst the buyer organizations and the seller organizations associated with the network, wherein the member organization is at least one of the plurality of seller organizations or the plurality buyer organizations.

Abstract: Embodiments for maintaining a company profile of a company associated with a supplier/buyer commerce network are disclosed. One method includes collecting activity information of the company. The collecting includes monitoring a plurality of databases that each maintains activity information associated with the company, assigning a unique identification for the company across the plurality of databases, exporting the activity information associated with the company from each of the plurality of databases, and aggregating the activity information. The method further includes updating the company profile with the aggregated activity information of the company.

Abstract: Embodiments for methods, systems and apparatuses of a supplier/buyer commerce network electronically introducing buyer and suppliers are disclosed. One computer-method includes electronically harvesting information related to characteristics of at least one of the buyers and anonymizing the harvested information. The anonymously harvested information is presented to a selected set of the suppliers, and a formation of a business relationship is facilitated between suppliers who express an interest in the at least one buyer.

Abstract: Enabling a supplier is disclosed. An indication of a transaction associated with a business process between a buyer and a supplier is received. A supplier enablement action is initiated in response to receiving the indication. The supplier enablement action is associated with enabling the supplier to join a supplier network.

Abstract: Embodiments for facilitating an electronic auction of prepayment of an invoice are disclosed. One method includes a supplier and a buyer approving the invoice with definite terms. The supplier electronically submits the invoice with proposed prepayment terms to an exchange platform. The exchange platform provides an electronic auction of the invoice with proposed prepayment terms to a plurality of bidders and receiving a bid from at least one of the plurality of bidders. Payment of the invoice between the winning bidder and the supplier is electronically facilitated if a winning bid is received.

Abstract: A method of bidding to drive competition in an auction, including receiving a plurality of bids from a plurality of bidders, distinguishing the bidders according to a subset of a parameter, assigning at least one identifier to the bidders in each subset, the subset associated with the identifier is unknown to the bidders outside of the subset, and displaying a lowest bid with the identifier for each bidder.

Abstract: A method for providing effective communication in a network, including obtaining from an editor data in a first language, accepting from the editor at least one allowable language other than the first language, receiving a request from a reader to access the data in a second language, if the second language is the at least one allowable language, rendering a version of the data in the second language to the reader, and if the second language is not the at least one allowable language, providing the data to the reader in the first language.

Abstract: Embodiments of methods, systems and apparatus for a buyer/supplier network aiding supplier enablement through creation of a requisition between a buyer and a supplier are disclosed. One method includes receiving, by the buyer/supplier network, a collaboration request for information about a good or service being purchased by a buyer. At least one supplier is identified from an approved supplier list that has the requested information. An account is created for each of the identified suppliers on the buyer/supplier network, and an invitation is sent to each of the suppliers to join the buyer/supplier network. Each of the invited suppliers is allowed to log into the buyer/supplier network through the invitation, and address the request for information.

Abstract: An auction methodology wherein individual demands are bid in lots and an aggregation of several lots is then run as an individual lot to determine if the buyer can attract a lower price offering from bidders by selecting to award the total volume of all of the individual lots to one bidder. A bidder-specific transformation factor for the aggregate lot is computed by combining selected transformed values (one for each lot) that take into account that bidder's price offerings for individual lots and the buyer-specified transformation factors for that bidder. Each bidder is then invited to bid a discount percentage for the aggregate lot. This discount percentage is then used along with the bidder-specific transformation factor to generate that bidder's transformed value for the aggregate lot. The bidder with the lowest transformed value for the aggregate lot may be selected as the winning bidder.

Abstract: A method of allocating an award in an auction wherein an award for a given auction round is allocated amongst a plurality of highest ranked bidders is disclosed. The method allocates the award between at least the first and second bidders. The method includes conducting the auction and allocating the award between at least the first and second bidders in accordance with the rank of the bidders and a predetermined divisional arrangement. A system, an apparatus, and a bidding device that perform the method are also disclosed.

Abstract: Embodiments for a supplier/buyer (S/B) network providing catalog updates are disclosed. One method includes the S/B network receiving a request for an update of product information of a catalog. The S/B network receives a profile request of at least one supplier from a buyer. The S/B network confirms that the at least one supplier supports product updates. If the at least one supplier supports product information updates, then the S/B network receives the request for a product information update from the buyer, and requests the product information update from the at least one supplier. The S/B network receives the product information update from the at least one supplier, and the S/B network updates the catalog based on the product information update.

Abstract: Embodiments for methods, systems, apparatuses for an enterprise application providing user control of sharing of data between multiple Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are disclosed. One method includes identifying types of shared data between the multiple ERPs, conveying the identified shared data types to a user, allowing the user to selectively load shared data to a parent realm based on the identified types of shared data, allowing the user to selectively indicate which data is not to be shared between ERPs to identified child realms, and providing sharing of shared data between child realms.

Abstract: Techniques for advancing a first bidder to a desired rank in an electronic auction are disclosed. In response to actuation of a bid rank advancement function by a first bidder, a new bid for the first bidder is calculated by applying a predetermined minimum differential value to a current bid of a second bidder that holds the desired rank in the electronic auction. The new bid is automatically submitted to the electronic auction on behalf of the first bidder.

Abstract: A system and method for promoting competitive bidding in an online auction that has a bidder, a favored bidder, and a sponsor, including receiving bids from the bidder and the favored bidder, deriving a relative spread, determining a market position for the bidder and the favored bidder, and displaying feedback information to at least one of the favored bidder or the bidder. The relative spread represents a minimum premium amount required before the sponsor awards a contract to a non-favored bidder. The market position reflects a comparison of the bid of the favored bidder to the bid of the bidder using the relative spread and the feedback information shows the market position.

Abstract: An auction is conducted by obtaining, from a buyer, information associated with a product to be purchased using an auction, where the buyer purchases the product from a winning bidder. The obtained information associated with the product is made available to at least a first bidder and a second bidder. A first bid that includes a first price and a first non-price information is received from the first bidder. A second bid that includes a second price and a second non-price information is received, from the second bidder. Non-price information is associated with (1) a description of a particular product a given bidder will provide in the event the given bidder wins the auction and/or (2) delivery of a product by the given bidder in the event the given bidder wins the auction. A first comparison value is generated based at least in part on the first price and the first non-price information. A second comparison value is generated based at least in part on the second price and the second non-price information.

The viewing configuration has a parameter, and the first view state includes a first value corresponding to the parameter. The content of the first data portion of the first computer file is presented to a display device based on the viewing configuration. In response to a user request, the presenting is manipulated corresponding to another viewing configuration having the parameter. A second view state is captured from the another viewing configuration. The second view state includes a second value corresponding to the parameter of the another viewing configuration. A second header portion and a second data portion of a second computer file are created.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for advancing a first bidder to a selected rank in an electronic auction. This method includes calculating, in response to actuation of a bid rank advancement function, a new bid for the first bidder, and displaying the new bid to the first bidder. The new bid is calculated by applying a predetermined minimum differential value to a current bid of a second bidder that holds the rank selected by the first bidder. In one embodiment, the rank selected by the first bidder is a rank other than first. The present invention also provides a system and apparatus for advancing a first bidder to a selected rank in an electronic auction.

Abstract: A system and method of transformation bidding in an electronic auction system. The system acquires lot data including tooling information for a lot, receives a bid from a bidder, and transforms the lot data and the bid into a true cost of procuring the lot from the bidder. The system also presents the true cost to a sponsor.

Abstract: A method and system for conducting online auctions in a Dutch format is disclosed. Isolation of bidders in the online Dutch auction is exploited by creating unique views into the Dutch auction. In one embodiment, posted prices are originally defined in the context of the originator of the auction. These posted prices are transformed into the individual contexts of potential bidders prior to display at the bidder computer system. Multiple views into the Dutch auction are thereby supported. In another embodiment, feedback formats are specified for one or more of the potential bidders. The specified feedback formats enable the originator of the auction to control the types of market clearing information that will be withheld from the various potential bidders.
