  • Patent number: 11995945
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide an improved display system for a gaming system comprising a bank of gaming machines. In particular embodiments, the display system comprises display elements that are spatially arranged relative to one another in a manner such that when an animation is displayed on the display elements, the spatial arrangement of the display elements relative to each other interacts with the animation to provide a greater apparent depth in the animation. In some embodiments, the display system further comprises a display element positioned between each pair of adjacent gaming machines and controlled to display a graphical representation indicative of a level of a jackpot, which representation is updated as players place wagers on the gaming machines. Methods for operating the gaming system comprising elements of the improved display system are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11995190
Abstract: Systems and techniques for providing one or more authenticable operating system volumes on an electronic gaming machine are provided. The systems and techniques may, for example, involve storing one or more datasets, each representing one or more operating system volumes for an operating system, on a shadow partition and then selecting one of those datasets as part of the boot process, authenticating it, and creating one or more operating system volumes on one or more operating system partitions of the electronic gaming machine. The systems and techniques may further involve causing a kernel of the operating system to execute from the newly created one or more operating system volumes only after authentication is successfully performed.

  • Patent number: 11995957
Abstract: A gaming machine provides a spinning reel game having a base game, from which a hold-and-spin game is triggered when a determined quantity of configurable symbols are displayed in a base game outcome. For each spin of the feature game, spin tags of configurable symbols are updated. When the spin tags have a predetermined relationship to a threshold value, the associated configurable symbol is split into a group of symbols. A feature game award is presented based on values associated with each configurable symbol in the feature game outcome.

  • Patent number: 11978316
Abstract: A gaming machine provides a base game from which a feature game is triggered when a determined number of configurable symbols are displayed in a base game outcome. When the feature game is triggered, the configurable symbols are held in place on the display and the player is provided with more spins during the feature game in which to collect additional configurable symbols. Any additional configurable symbols are retained on the display during subsequent spins until the feature game is completed. The configurable symbols include mystery symbols whose value is not determined until the mystery symbol is displayed. A first valuation game, such as a wheel spin, is used to determine the value for the mystery symbols. At the end of the feature game, the player is awarded a prize based on the values carried by the configurable symbols. A second valuation game, such as a wheel spin, is used to provide an enhanced award if the player collects a determined number of configurable symbols during the feature game.

  • Patent number: 11978302
Abstract: An electronic gaming machine includes a display device, and a processor configured to execute instructions stored in a memory. When executed, the instructions cause the processor to select a first plurality of symbols for a first level of play of a feature game, where each of the first plurality of symbols are selected from a plurality of feature symbols including at least one number symbol and at least one designated symbol. The instructions also cause the processor to control the display device to display the first plurality of symbols in a first row of symbol positions, and in response to determining that the first plurality of symbols include at least two number symbols, concatenate the at least two number symbols to determine a first prize value equal to the concatenated value of the at least two number symbols.

  • Patent number: 11972658
Abstract: An electronic gaming system is configured to provide a wagering session on an electronic gaming machine based upon one or more communications received from a mobile device of a player, where the communications indicate a signal strength of a wireless beacon relative to the mobile device. For example, the mobile device may provide a first communication indicating that the mobile device is within a first distance of the electronic gaming machine. In response, the wagering session may be provided or initiated. Likewise, during gameplay, the mobile device may provide a second communication indicating that the mobile device has moved to within a second distance of the electronic gaming machine. In response, the wagering session may be continued or terminated, depending upon, for example, a comparison of the second distance to a threshold second distance.
