Patent number: 11173405Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods of the present disclosure are directed to providing a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) based distributed games that allows two or more teams of players to develop mathematical and problem-solving skills. Game controllers allow each team to submit a number to a game device that performs one or more arithmetic operations on the set of numbers to compute a guess that is compared to a puzzle solution. If the guess equals the puzzle solution prior to a timer time period expiring, then the players win a reward, such as deploying a shower of confetti, providing candy, display of lights, conspicuous sounds, vibrations, and/or the like.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2019Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Assignee: Arrow Electronics, Inc.Inventor: Christian Pruett

Patent number: 10122490Abstract: A communication system includes a wireless interface including a transmitter, receiver, and a programmable device responsive to a communication signal to switch a communication mode in accordance with the communication signal. A module is coupled to the wireless interface and includes a processor and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory includes a protocol sensor configured to identify a given protocol for received information and employ a corresponding software protocol for further communications.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2017Date of Patent: November 6, 2018Assignee: ARROW ELECTRONICS, INC.Inventors: Christian Curtis, Bryce Wujek, Ryan-Michael Hanson, Keaton Anderson

Patent number: 9714878Abstract: A pressure sensitive device includes a ring having a central axis, first side and second side. The ring includes a dielectric portion parallel to the central axis and between the first and second sides. A flexible membrane is connected to a periphery of the ring on the first side, the flexible membrane including a conductive portion. A perforated membrane is connected to a periphery of the ring on the second side. The perforated membrane is spaced apart and electrically isolated from the flexible membrane by the ring below a threshold pressure differential across the pressure sensitive device. The perforated membrane includes an opening therethrough and a conductive portion facing and corresponding to the conductive portion of the flexible membrane such that a threshold pressure differential across the pressure sensitive device causes deflection between the conductive portions of the flexible membrane and the perforated membrane to change an electrical property.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2013Date of Patent: July 25, 2017Assignee: ARROW ELECTRONICS, INC.Inventors: Nicholas Powers, Christian Curtis

Patent number: 9079531Abstract: A light providing improved visibility during adverse conditions includes an array of discrete lights distributed over a surface. The discrete lights are configured to distribute directional light over a three-dimensional space. A regulation and multiplexing circuit is coupled to the array of discrete lights and configured to power discrete lights such that the regulation and multiplexing circuit strobes the discrete lights in accordance with environmental conditions to reduce or eliminate perceived streaking of precipitation or debris to improve operator visibility.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2013Date of Patent: July 14, 2015Assignee: ARROW ELECTRONICS, INC.Inventors: Timothy Refior, Christian Curtis

Patent number: 7945487Abstract: A certified secondary market inventory platform maintains a certified catalog of items for sale on a secondary market. Certified items are tracked by the platform and have a verified chain of custody between the manufacturer and the current owner. The certified catalog of items is presented anonymously, such that current owners of certified items are not revealed to potential buyers. Anonymity also extends to fulfillment, with shipment of a certified item to a buyer being performed without revealing the buyer and the current owner to each other. Verification of the chain of custody may, for example, include evidence such as a goods-received note corresponding to a shipment of the certified item from the manufacturer to the current owner, or a shipping notification from the manufacturer. A physical audit may also be conducted in association with publication of the certified catalog of items, as a pre-requisite for such publication.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2007Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Assignee: Arrow Electronics, Inc.Inventors: Josef T.
