Abstract: Example systems relate to access point fit. A system may include a processing resource and a memory resource. The memory resource may store machine readable instructions to cause the processing resource to determine a fit for a first client device using a plurality of metrics in response to a scan request from the first client device. The memory resource may further include instructions to cause the processing resource to determine that the fit for the first client device is above a threshold fit. The memory resource may further include instructions to cause the proceeding resource to respond to the scan request from the first client device with a probe response in response to the determination that the fit for the first client device is above the threshold fit.

Abstract: Example implementations relate to multicast multi-user grouping. For example, an apparatus may comprise a processing resource that may rank a plurality of stations associated with the apparatus based on a characteristic associated with a first multicast group containing a first set of stations among the plurality of stations, and a characteristic associated with a second multicast group containing a second set of stations among the plurality of stations. The processing resource may assign a first group of stations from the first multicast group and the second multicast group to a first multi-user group and assign a second group of stations from the first multicast group and the second multicast group to a second multi-user group. The processing resource may convert a multicast frame associated with a station from the first multi-user group to a unicast frame, and transmit the unicast frame to each station in the first multi-user group.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate, among other things, to a controller communicatively coupled to a plurality of radios, where each radio may be associated with a wireless channel. The controller may obtain, for each radio in the plurality of radios, a set of parameters associated with the radio's communication through the wireless channel associated with the radio, and determine an air-time capacity of the radio based on the set of parameters. The controller may also calculate a combined air-time capacity of the plurality of radios based on the air-time capacity of each of the plurality of radios, and based on the combined air-time capacity, determine whether to assign a different wireless channel to at least one of the plurality of radios.

  • Patent number: 10009775
Abstract: Example implementations relate to network deployment of devices. For example, a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions executable by a processing resource can determine a plurality of deployment thresholds of a plurality of devices, wherein the plurality of deployment thresholds are associated with a type of the plurality of devices. The instructions can cause the processing resource to monitor deployment data associated with the plurality of devices to identify a device with a deployment outlier. The device with the deployment outlier is a device with deployment data that is outside a deployment threshold of the device. The instructions can cause the processing resource to adjust the deployment threshold of the device based on the monitoring.

  • Patent number: 9998947
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and network device for intelligent handling of voice calls from mobile voice client devices. In some embodiments, the network device detects that a load, corresponding to a plurality of client devices associated with an access point, exceeds a particular threshold value. In some embodiments, the network device detects that a call quality for a current ongoing call, corresponding to a first client device associated with an access point, is below a first threshold value. In response, the network device selects a particular client device, of the plurality of client devices associated with the access point, for disassociation with the access point. The network device then causes the particular client device to disassociate with the access point.

  • Patent number: 9992202
Abstract: Certain aspects and features of the present disclosure relate to providing access control using groups that can be dynamically controlled by group owners, such access control hereinafter referred to as group access control. Group access control can be used to control the transmission of packets on a network layer, or for other access control. A network administrator can provide users with permissions, such as using user roles. Users can then establish groups to share permissions with other users. A group is established by a group owner, who can modify the member list of that group and modify what permissions will be passed on to group members all without the involvement of a network administrator. Members of a group can include users, devices, and network resources. Additionally, data path entities (e.g. routers and access points) can facilitate delivery of packets between group members across multiple logical networks.

  • Patent number: 9954604
Abstract: Disclosed herein, one embodiment of the disclosure is directed to a system, apparatus, and method for enabling simultaneous transmit and receive in the same Wi-Fi band within a device by first obtaining a first information corresponding to a first set of signals to be transmitted wirelessly by a first antenna of a first device and transmitting, by the first antenna of the first device, the first set of signals. Then, a second set of signals comprising: (a) the first set of signals transmitted by the first antenna of the first device and (b) a third set of signals transmitted by a second device different than the first device are received by a second antenna of the first device. Thereafter, a second information representing the second set of signals received by the second antenna of the first device is obtained. Last, based on the first information and the second information, a third information comprising an estimation of the third set of signals without the first set of signals is determined.

  • Patent number: 9955432
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and system for adaptive cell size management. The system can determine a minimum SNR value and one or more current environmental factors for a particular environment. Also, the system dynamically determines a minimum signal strength value for receiving wireless signals based on the minimum SNR value and the one or more current environmental factors, and configures a network device to receive signals with the minimum signal strength value. Alternatively, the system can estimate a particular coverage area such that a first set of wireless signals transmitted by devices located within the particular coverage area reach a network device at a minimum signal strength. The system then computes a transmission power such that a second set of wireless signals transmitted by the network device at the transmission power reaches an edge of the particular coverage area at a particular signal strength value.
